Palmer was Int class. Big Palmer fan (tried ages to get him of you) But he's 33 and looking past it tbh. Wasps move final throw of dice as dire in T14 and lost it at Int.

He has had good wc when on and was great vs Ireland

After front row England have no guaranteed starters.

Bloke next to me asked a great question today he said who will be glos captain next year.

We
Have 2 options wood or Hamilton. There are zero options after that which shows we lack leaders and why we are bad

personally don't think Parling, Botha or Robson are international class, couldnt see any getting into the Welsh, Scottish, French or Irish starting lineups.

they should concentrate on finding the best partner for Courtney Lawes, you can build you whole defence around him and the hits he puts in definitely makes flyhalfs worry - the closest we will get to having a modern day enforcer!

think the trouble with English rugby is that after 2003 WC we thought that we would win games by being the biggest, strongest etc, so put all emphasis on being big and less emphasis on skills and basics - this has only changed in the last few years.

Ford's future problem is his size.

There was a poll on main boards about Lions locks for next tour. Welsh and Irish generally rate Parling as our best lock. He would walk in Welsh team.

https://www.606v2.com/t26916-lock-choices-of-the-home-nations

1. Richie Gray
2. POC
3. Lawes
4. Parling/Evans

Seems some think Parling is Int class. I'd personally go for a 4 of Lawes, Parling, Garvey, Botha for SA tour.

On that poll Parling is about 7th choice and with 50% less votes and behind Ian Evans and level with donnacha Ryan which about says his level for
Me.

To have a 2nd row with zero carrying ability is not the way forward. He had an ok 6 nations and did not let us down but long term he is not the solution.

Second row is our weakest position along with our
Midfield balance

He isn't 7th he's 4th, are you reading the right bit?

Parling has 21 votes, Evans 20 & Ryan 19.

Parling outstanding lineout lock and best we have. Doing something right if people generally think he'd make Lions.

wouldnt have parling ahead of bradley davies (when on form) or wyn jones. he had a good 6nations, like Botha did but have a feeling that they will both struggle when they come up against the Boks this summer.

there's no concern at all about Ford's size - he has a rugby league background, very good tackler, mike ford has taught him how to defend and when you play international u18 rugby from the age of 15 and u20 from the age of 16/17 you've got no worries about tackling bigger people.

hopefully he'll get England the JWC this year!

Going forward his size could hold him back I think, bright prospect.

Parling different to Davies. Davies a carrier, Parling a lineout specialist and work horse.

My 4 Lions locks would be Paul O'Connell , Richie Grey , Bradley Davies and Luke Charteris.

Incidently i'm changing my game plan next year to a power based game similer to Wales so i'm after players who fit that mold.

If Wayne Smith could get England's backs playing like the Chiefs did against the Cheetahs yesterday then we would be awesome. Sadly I am not convinced that he will be able to get Farrell - Barritt - Tuilagi playing like Cruden - Sonny Bill - Kahui.

Their offloading game was ridiculous yesterday.

that's what I thought Driver - he definitely has an eye for attack - apparently the RFU are looking at Wayne Smith, Alex King, Will Greenwood and Brian Ashton for attack position. Guess they have to find someone who fits in with Lancaster and Rowntree.

Driver - I would look to try and bring in a top class winger to replace Matt Smith, or get someone a bit more creative at 13 as with big backs you need someone who can put them through the gaps etc and a lot of your attacks when it isnt bucketing down with rain might die with Tindall...

It has the vote numbers on right, I'm guessing that's were the parling 7th thing came from as you automatically put him behind other players on 7/8%.

Interestingly no Palmer in list, little surprised he didn't make posters cut above some of other the locks on there.

Our lineout was shambles before Parling came in, deserves praise for that even if not a fan.

Gray, POC, Davies and Ryan for me, in that order.

Me too mate. Went to watch their A side against Quins at The Stoop a few weeks back with 2 Chiefs fans and 2 other neutrals. There was one other Chiefs fan there as well, and between the 6 of us we made more noise than the 500 odd Quins fans. Was great craic.
