Differing scorecards

Following Saturdays ridiculous scoring against Wayne Reed i got me thinking or differing scorecards and the biggest swings between 2 judges, now I dont have the greatest boxing knowledge so Im sure somebody will be able to come up with a better example. But the 1 that immediatly sprung to mind was Sebastian Zbik, When he was fighting some Italian bloke whos name escapes me I am pretty sure 1 judge awarded Zbik every round while another gave it to he Italian by 2 rounds...
Any other examples along the same lines? And as I never seen this fight does anybody know which judge was closer to the true reflection of the fight?

Comes to mind, but sure there are many better examples.

Decided to stop being lazy and check the actual scorecards and the three judges had it
Herminio Cuevas Collazo 113-115 (Rosa)
Bela Florian 117-111 (Zbik)
Atta Eddie Pappoe 120-109 (Zbik)

Makes you wonder how these people get away with such nonsense, also why they get into judging in the 1st place its clearly not for the love of the sport otherwise such blatant hometown decisions wouldnt happen.

Prize fighter was pretty disgraceful to be honest. How he could give 30 points to a fights who got punched about and dropped in a round is beyond me.

Anyone think Prizefighter judges are told they cannot score it a draw? Has there ever been a draw in PF.

Yeah, they are told that L_J. I think the fights should be scored a draw if they think, and the ref picks an overall winner ignoring the 10 point must system.

Would be a much fairer system. Boxing fans are not stupid (well most) and the fact they were booing the home fighter when that disgraceful decision was read out speaks volumes.

Judges should be made to answer such poor showing. Like football ref's, they are given far to much protection.

Malignaggi-Diaz I had some bad discrepancies between cards, hence the rematch. Quite pleased to see Pwaulie nick it.

I remember watching Michael Katsidas v Vinny Escobedo on undercard in 2009.

One judge had it 118-110 Katsidas
Another 112-116 Escobedo
Lastle 115-113 Katsidas

I think thats probably the biggest variance I can remember seeing.

The first Marquez vs Pac fight had an almighty swing in the cards i believe.

Think it was:

115-110 to Marquez on 1 card

115-110 to Pac on another card

And a draw on the remaining one!

The Guy (no pun intended) who had Marquez winning it was in his 70s and had clearly lost most of his sight. Not a judge anymore.

Well, he was in his 70's, was losing his eyesight (wore glasses) and is no longer judging (at least he hasn't since 2007).

Whether that affected his score I don't know, but amusing cheerleading by D4 nonetheless.

He was also called Guy, maybe I should have tried to make light that he was just some guy.

And Canadian judges do make a lot of controversial decisions.

I wish i didn't put the fight up as an example!

Without being guilty of moving the subject away from the actual purpose of the article i have seen the fight 3 times and i had Marquez JUST edging it.

Anyone giving Pac the win by a wide margin is deluded and obviously biased towards him and same with Marquez. I can understand the views if they ahd Pac just edging it

Does anyone else feel a 10-1-1 comment is just around the corner?
