Tactics
We are welcoming Saracens to Edgeley Park, putting out a strong team that is ideal for the conditions. We have a strong front five, who will dominate the set piece and with a set of backs who are ideal for these conditions.
-Kubriashvili will target Gill at scrum time and will get the upper hand.
-Fourie is an out and out breakdown specialist and will completely control this area. Ensuring we win many turnovers.
- Sarries are without their normal lineout leader in Borthwick. They do not have a suitable replacement to run the lineout, with Kruis being far too inexperienced and none of their backrow being out and out lineout players. This means we will get a big advanatge here, where....
- Wilkinson and Peel will look to play territory. Playing the game in the right areas is crucial.
- Jonny Leota and Sam Tuitipou both heavily involved in the 6 try dmolition of wasps in real life, will look to target the Saracens centres. Powell cannot play 12, he is an out and out 13, and Joel Tomkins is not used to rugby union defending yet. This will mean their will be...
-Wilko will take all points that are on offer. If we are in their 22 and don't have momentum wilko will drop into the pocket and take the drop goal.
-Sheridan, Ostrikov, Powell and Auva'a are huge ball carriers and we will look to use them to punch holes in the Saracens defence.
-Our back 3 will look to run any loose kicks back, however if the running option is not on, we will look to kick it back, with Cueto, Miller and Amesbury all being good under the highball and good kickers we are perfectly suited to the conditions.
-With 2 experienced half backs and 2 big centres we beleive we are perfectly suited to playing in these conditions.

Tactics
We will work as units and play a structured game. We will play a kicking game and use the lineout as a weapon.
- Attack the lineout as much as we can using the tactical kicking of Parra, James and Goode. Use any of Joubert, Kruis, Saull, Brown and Vyvyan, and always attack Sale's throws.
- Call for scrums when we can if we are getting the advantage we expect to. Joubert to control from the base.
- Look to all of our forwards to give us real go-forward with their carrying.
- At the breakdown we will look to counter ruck when possible, we will look to make a real nuisance of ourselves at the breakdown and compete when possible.
- Parra and James are given license to play the game as they see it. We do ask that they use our carrying and lineout ability to put pressure on the opposition, but if they see an opportunity to attack out wide - that is their call.
- Our back three are encouraged to do what they do best - counter attacking and running the ball back. All have good boots to rely on if it isn't on or they are isolated, but the counter is what we ask them to look for.
- Early on Parra to kick all penalites within range, but we won't necessarily go for the 3 points as the game progresses. Joubert to make the call dependant on the success of the lineout.

Quins will play a high tempo game based around dynamic ball carriers and offloads whilst being solid in the setpiece and securing our own ball. Our pack will look to cause problems in the tight , grinding out the hard yards when needed and ruuning off Cips standing on the gain line. Chris Robshaw returns to lead the side and after a game and a bit over the last 2 weeks he'll be rareing to go alongside the battle harderned Nick Easter and Matt Kvesic will aim to cause problems on the deck.
* Cipriani to attack the gainline and really get our back line moving and running at Bath
* High tempo allowing Berry to tap and go and gain quick yards
* Elliot Daley to kick the leather off the ball and punish any Bath Penalties

Off the back of a convincing home win against Worcester, Bath welcome back their talismanic midfield maestro Frans Steyn. Frans brings top class experience and a wonderful skill set to the team, equally comfortable in attack and defence and a top class kicking game from the hand and the tee. Owen Franks starts from the off after a rest last week. We are putting out our strongest team and bulkiest pack, looking for an away win at the Stoop.

TACTICS
Target the front five and look to build a platform in the set piece. Away from home we want to play the basics, secure the scrum and give Classens and Donald quick clean ball. The axis of Classens, Donald and Steyn gives us plenty of kicking options, to ensure we play in the right areas. Use the experience of 9/10 to control the game and gain the upper hand, Steyn to kick penalties, to ensure we come away with points on each visit to the 22. If slow ball, use Steyn's drop goal as a weapon, using scoreboard pressure to disrupt Quins and unsettle the home crowd. With the lineout prowess of Muller, we can challenge and disrupt opposition ball.
BACKS
* In our 22 use Donald and Steyn to kick long, but find touch. Play sensible rugby in our half, mixing up the point of attack with Donald and Steyn interchanging and Steyn dropping in behind as a second playmaker, looking for gaps upfield
* Donald and Steyn to take the ball flat on the gainline, looking to test Cipriani's defence at every opportunity, using the crash ball to break the gainline and set up a ruck for quick ball
* Dagg encouraged to come into the line during attack and given a free rein, looking to track the shoulders of Steyn and Lualala when they make the half break
* Steyn to lead the rush defence, pressurising the half backs and looking for intercepts
* Cook to come on after 60 mins, his fresh legs and pace will be a threat around the fringes, keeping the opposition defence narrow. Banahan unleashed after 50 mins to test tired defence, he will relish running at the 10 channel.
FORWARDS
* Franks to put real pressure on Marler at scrum time, looking for penalty wins and a potential yellow card. Power of Muller and Attwood to challenge opposition ball, forcing back row and scrum half to work off scrappy ball
* Use a big physical front five full of ball carrying options of Franks, Attwood, Muller, Lund and Fearns to smash holes in the narrow channels. We look to earn the right to play wide.
* Louw is the breakdown man, he is the first to tackle area, looking to use his strength to stay on his feet and force turnovers and penalties. Without a specialist 7, we feel that Louw could have real success and be a nuisance
* Perenise and Catt to come on after 60 mins to freshen up the front row. Both are great in the loose and will add to the ball carrying options. Mercer comes on to replace Lund, to give us another link forward, very useful as the game opens up later on.

Tactics
- Use the set piece as a platform to build attacks. At scrum time, we have 5 big front row scrummagers at our disposal to compete. If it's not going our way, Halrinordoquy to pick and go to set it up.
- Similarly with the lineout, use jumpers Kennedy, Pocock and Gibson. Opt for full lineouts in their half to tie in their pack and go for off-the-top ball to get wide quickly.
- Target the breakdown for possible turnovers, with Pocock staying strong on his feet. When they arise, two quicks balls away and go. Backs, forwards, back yourselves.
- Be disciplined at the breakdown, with a guard and bodyguard at every breakdown to stop those easy yards around the fringes. No excuses here.
- Big runners off Geraghty to give us real go forward. Occasionally look for the inside ball off 9 or 10 to cut them apart. The space will come, and when it does, we go.
- Play to our strenths. Our pack can compete at the set piece but where we can really hurt sides is out wide. Look to get outside their guards and bodyguards to suck in more and more forwards at each breakdown, giving space out wide.
- Allinson to prawl behind the defense line and mop up any breaks or half breaks. Patrol the breakdown area and keep an eye up for numbers.
- Play rugby in their half. Allinson and Geraghty to put us in the right places and alow us to use our lineout weapon.
- Homer to go for points at every opportunity.We can have a pop from anywhere in their half. Make them scared to give away penalties in their half, thus giving us more time at the breakdown.

Tactics
In the damp conditions we’ll be looking to play a high tempo game and limit the offloading with the greasy ball. We’ll be looking for big carries from our pack to free up space around the fringes for out talented backline to work in.
We will look to set a tone in the set piece with our big scrummaging front 5 and will look for the squeeze from the off. Deacon will lead the line and we will look to target the opposition's throw with Newby/Kitchener marshalling the front/middle of the line. We'll use big carries from our pack to draw in the opposition defence with Youngs marshalling and looking for gaps to exploit around the fringes.
Wallace & Newby will target the breakdown with Youngs sniping around and playing flat to the line to allow Barnes & Manu space to run into. JOC will come looking for the ball in midfield and link up with Manu causing problems in the opposition midfield. We'll look to refresh pack around 60mins + and keep up the intensity.
- Look to get JOC onto the ball as much as possible, look to use to loop with Tuilagi
- Barnes to kick whats on offer and keep the board ticking over
- Get Care on in second half to give him some game time in Tigers jersey
- TARGET IRISH SCRUM – look to keep ball in on own ball and force penalty

This is a massive match and; after a big win last week we are on a high. It will be a clash of running backs and we will look to stop Barnes having any time on the ball. Lambie will look at running rugby and we will use Wood and JVN to lead the pack. We will look to play simple rugby in the backs with easy hands and exploiting the gaps when they come. We know Exeter are good at killing a match so will look for quick ball to prevent this and to take the points when possible.
Forwards
*Front row to look to get under their opposite numbers and get the edge up on Harden to release the back row.
*Look to target their lineout with Brown marshalling the troops here.
*Back rows all in excellent form wih JVN leading the way running off the backs and Savage and Qera looking to steal loose ball.
*Put pressure on Barnes to prevent him playing well and slowing down their ball.
*Use our bench wisely with Lawson, Hamilton and Narraway all excellent impact subs.
Backs
*Quick ball to Lambie when on the front foot, if not then look to pin them into the corners hitting touch.
*Centres to go route A straight through the defence looking for the offloads to the forward support or the back 3's who all have pace to burn.
*Wingers to run back any kicked ball looking for space and forwards to support them.
*EFS to lead an 'in your face' defence with a forward looking to steal/slow down ball at each breakdown.

Take all points - Mieres will take every penalty at goal, and look to take any drop goal opportunities to build a lead.
Defensive
Blitz Defence - We will look to blitz and stop the Gloucester carriers before they hit the gainline. Thomas will sweep in behind the line.
Breakdown - We will look to get our back row there quickly and contest for the ball if it's on to be won, but we will not overcommit, instead maintaining a sold defensive line to repel Gloucesters ball carriers.
Key Points
Form/Momentum/Confidence - We have won our last two and have momentum and confidence. Gloucester were hammered last week and have no momentum whatsoever.
Conditions - Conditions are not great for running rugby so we have picked a big powerful side to execute a simple but effective gameplan.
Freshness in the pack - We have freshened up our pack with 4 changes, ready for a battle. Gloucester have only changed their hooker from last weeks defeat so there must be some tiredness there.
Backs - We have selected powerful, defensively solid backs to execute a simple plan. Gloucester have selected lighter backs with only 2 in the same shirts as last week, meaning there will have to be some confusion amongst them if executing complex backs moves.

General Game Plan:
We want to play the game in the right areas and Myler will look to use his intelligent kicking game to put us there. When in Wasps territory we will use our strong carriers to attack gaps and half gaps in the Wasps line, looking to offload in contact to support runners thus changing the point of attack and keeping our forward momentum going.
On defence, we will use a blitz defence coming up at pace looking to isolate the Wasps ball carriers before they can get to the gain line stopping any momentum and allowing us to hit the breakdown harder. Roberts will act as a sweeper to cover any grubbers or chips behind the line while our back three will sit deep ready to cover any kicks down the touch lines and counter attack at pace.
With the blitz in operation we will look to be at the breakdown first hitting it fast and hard. The first two players on the scene will look to ruck past the ball and clear out the Wasps players providing quick counter attacking ball to be used against a disorganised defensive line. If the ball does not look available we will not commit to the ruck and look to strengthen the defensive line instead.
Key Points:
•We are unbeaten so far this season and have built some serious momentum. With a baying home crowd at the hostile Gardens looking to intimidate both Wasps and the ref, Wasps will need to be at their very best to win!
•We will contest every engagement! On our own feed we will look to get the wheel on and create extra room for our 8-9-10 axis to work in. On Wasps ball we will disrupt the put in looking for penalties or to create rushed poor ball for the Wasps halfbacks.
•We feel we have the power to cause the Wasps front row real problems and dominate here. We will look to go to the scrum at every opportunity with Read in his role as captain in the refs ear.
•With 5 jumpers and minimal challenge on our ball, we want to really use the lineout as an attacking platform like South Africa in recent years. We will use a full compliment and play the ball off the top allowing our halfbacks to get on the ball at pace with room outside.
•In the line on Wasps ball we will look for Kieran Read to mark Wentzel and cut out the main Wasps jumping option, leaving Day and the rest of our back 5 to try and poach the ball.
•We will test the Wasps wingers out, as they are both known to be caught on the turn. Myler will look to execute kick and chases and cross field kicks into the corners when he sees either out of position.
•In the 2nd half we can introduce the likes of Strauss, PDJ, Manoa and Wilson to up the tempo in the loose and at the set piece. Ryan Lamb can enter the fray and offer a different threat from flyhalf against tired legs.

Matt Garvey is rested and replaced by Ross Filipo. In the backrow, Michael Lipman replaces Julien Salvi, but there is no place for Sergio Parisse who has been retained by Italy. Pedrie Wannenburg keeps his place after impressing against the Exiles. In the backs, Jimmy Gopperth, James Fitzpatrick and Mike Brown come in for Nicky Robinson, Jonathan Joseph and Richard Haughton.

Nonu to be focus of Attack then use him as dummy with Carter pulling the strings.
Put pressure on Tom Heathcote. Inexperienced fly half won’t hold up well in a big game. Playing FH will probably also need some time to settle in.

General Gameplan;
With a solid home win at home last week the Falcons this week will get a chance to rotate some of the fringe players, in the away tie. This oppurtunity will allow some boys to put their hand up for selection in the run in, and allow fresh legs through out the game.
Our gameplan will be simple as we will look to get up in the opposition faces, not giving them a moment to spare. This will lead to pressure and this will generate to mistakes and penalties.
Our pack is fully committed to the Falcons cause and the grizzled front five along with the backrow will look to dominate the collisions and rucks to give us forward momentum. This will get us over the gainline each time, and causing the Worcester defence to always be on the back foot.
The quality possession from our clever and dynamic forward play will allow us to release our potent backline, with Hodgson looking to play intelligently by getting the ball away cleanly from rucks. This will allow Heathcote and Shingler to get on the ball in midfield and create mismatches so we can spread the ball out wide to our dangerous runners to make use of the space on offer.

Quins will play a high tempo game based around dynamic ball carriers and offloads whilst being solid in the setpiece and securing our own ball. Our pack will look to cause problems in the tight , grinding out the hard yards when needed and ruuning off Cips standing on the gain line. Chris Robshaw returns to lead the side and after a game and a bit over the last 2 weeks he'll be rareing to go alongside the battle harderned Nick Easter and Matt Kvesic will aim to cause problems on the deck.

TACTICS
Target the front five and look to build a platform in the set piece. Away from home we want to play the basics, secure the scrum and give Classens and Donald quick clean ball. The axis of Classens, Donald and Steyn gives us plenty of kicking options, to ensure we play in the right areas. Use the experience of 9/10 to control the game and gain the upper hand, Steyn to kick penalties, to ensure we come away with points on each visit to the 22. If slow ball, use Steyn's drop goal as a weapon, using scoreboard pressure to disrupt Quins and unsettle the home crowd. With the lineout prowess of Muller, we can challenge and disrupt opposition ball.
BACKS
* In our 22 use Donald and Steyn to kick long, but find touch. Play sensible rugby in our half, mixing up the point of attack with Donald and Steyn interchanging and Steyn dropping in behind as a second playmaker, looking for gaps upfield
* Donald and Steyn to take the ball flat on the gainline, looking to test Cipriani's defence at every opportunity, using the crash ball to break the gainline and set up a ruck for quick ball
* Dagg encouraged to come into the line during attack and given a free rein, looking to track the shoulders of Steyn and Lualala when they make the half break
* Steyn to lead the rush defence, pressurising the half backs and looking for intercepts
* Cook to come on after 60 mins, his fresh legs and pace will be a threat around the fringes, keeping the opposition defence narrow. Banahan unleashed after 50 mins to test tired defence, he will relish running at the 10 channel.
FORWARDS
* Franks to put real pressure on Marler at scrum time, looking for penalty wins and a potential yellow card. Power of Muller and Attwood to challenge opposition ball, forcing back row and scrum half to work off scrappy ball
* Use a big physical front five full of ball carrying options of Franks, Attwood, Muller, Lund and Fearns to smash holes in the narrow channels. We look to earn the right to play wide.
* Louw is the breakdown man, he is the first to tackle area, looking to use his strength to stay on his feet and force turnovers and penalties. Without a specialist 7, we feel that Louw could have real success and be a nuisance
* Perenise and Catt to come on after 60 mins to freshen up the front row. Both are great in the loose and will add to the ball carrying options. Mercer comes on to replace Lund, to give us another link forward, very useful as the game opens up later on.

Tactics
- Use the set piece as a platform to build attacks. At scrum time, we have 5 big front row scrummagers at our disposal to compete. If it's not going our way, Halrinordoquy to pick and go to set it up.
- Similarly with the lineout, use jumpers Kennedy, Pocock and Gibson. Opt for full lineouts in their half to tie in their pack and go for off-the-top ball to get wide quickly.
- Target the breakdown for possible turnovers, with Pocock staying strong on his feet. When they arise, two quicks balls away and go. Backs, forwards, back yourselves.
- Be disciplined at the breakdown, with a guard and bodyguard at every breakdown to stop those easy yards around the fringes. No excuses here.
- Big runners off Geraghty to give us real go forward. Occasionally look for the inside ball off 9 or 10 to cut them apart. The space will come, and when it does, we go.
- Play to our strenths. Our pack can compete at the set piece but where we can really hurt sides is out wide. Look to get outside their guards and bodyguards to suck in more and more forwards at each breakdown, giving space out wide.
- Allinson to prawl behind the defense line and mop up any breaks or half breaks. Patrol the breakdown area and keep an eye up for numbers.
- Play rugby in their half. Allinson and Geraghty to put us in the right places and alow us to use our lineout weapon.
- Homer to go for points at every opportunity.We can have a pop from anywhere in their half. Make them scared to give away penalties in their half, thus giving us more time at the breakdown.

Tactics
In the damp conditions we’ll be looking to play a high tempo game and limit the offloading with the greasy ball. We’ll be looking for big carries from our pack to free up space around the fringes for out talented backline to work in.
We will look to set a tone in the set piece with our big scrummaging front 5 and will look for the squeeze from the off. Deacon will lead the line and we will look to target the opposition's throw with Newby/Kitchener marshalling the front/middle of the line. We'll use big carries from our pack to draw in the opposition defence with Youngs marshalling and looking for gaps to exploit around the fringes.
Wallace & Newby will target the breakdown with Youngs sniping around and playing flat to the line to allow Barnes & Manu space to run into. JOC will come looking for the ball in midfield and link up with Manu causing problems in the opposition midfield. We'll look to refresh pack around 60mins + and keep up the intensity.
- Look to get JOC onto the ball as much as possible, look to use to loop with Tuilagi
- Barnes to kick whats on offer and keep the board ticking over

This is a massive match and; after a big win last week we are on a high. It will be a clash of running backs and we will look to stop Barnes having any time on the ball. Lambie will look at running rugby and we will use Wood and JVN to lead the pack. We will look to play simple rugby in the backs with easy hands and exploiting the gaps when they come. We know Exeter are good at killing a match so will look for quick ball to prevent this and to take the points when possible.

Take all points - Mieres will take every penalty at goal, and look to take any drop goal opportunities to build a lead.
Defensive
Blitz Defence - We will look to blitz and stop the Gloucester carriers before they hit the gainline. Thomas will sweep in behind the line.
Breakdown - We will look to get our back row there quickly and contest for the ball if it's on to be won, but we will not overcommit, instead maintaining a sold defensive line to repel Gloucesters ball carriers.
Key Points
Form/Momentum/Confidence - We have won our last two and have momentum and confidence. Gloucester were hammered last week and have no momentum whatsoever.
Conditions - Conditions are not great for running rugby so we have picked a big powerful side to execute a simple but effective gameplan.
Freshness in the pack - We have freshened up our pack with 4 changes, ready for a battle. Gloucester have only changed their hooker from last weeks defeat so there must be some tiredness there.
Backs - We have selected powerful, defensively solid backs to execute a simple plan. Gloucester have selected lighter backs with only 2 in the same shirts as last week, meaning there will have to be some confusion amongst them if executing complex backs moves.

General Game Plan:
We want to play the game in the right areas and Myler will look to use his intelligent kicking game to put us there. When in Wasps territory we will use our strong carriers to attack gaps and half gaps in the Wasps line, looking to offload in contact to support runners thus changing the point of attack and keeping our forward momentum going.
On defence, we will use a blitz defence coming up at pace looking to isolate the Wasps ball carriers before they can get to the gain line stopping any momentum and allowing us to hit the breakdown harder. Roberts will act as a sweeper to cover any grubbers or chips behind the line while our back three will sit deep ready to cover any kicks down the touch lines and counter attack at pace.
With the blitz in operation we will look to be at the breakdown first hitting it fast and hard. The first two players on the scene will look to ruck past the ball and clear out the Wasps players providing quick counter attacking ball to be used against a disorganised defensive line. If the ball does not look available we will not commit to the ruck and look to strengthen the defensive line instead.
Key Points:
•We are unbeaten so far this season and have built some serious momentum. With a baying home crowd at the hostile Gardens looking to intimidate both Wasps and the ref, Wasps will need to be at their very best to win!
•We will contest every engagement! On our own feed we will look to get the wheel on and create extra room for our 8-9-10 axis to work in. On Wasps ball we will disrupt the put in looking for penalties or to create rushed poor ball for the Wasps halfbacks.
•We feel we have the power to cause the Wasps front row real problems and dominate here. We will look to go to the scrum at every opportunity with Read in his role as captain in the refs ear.
•With 5 jumpers and minimal challenge on our ball, we want to really use the lineout as an attacking platform like South Africa in recent years. We will use a full compliment and play the ball off the top allowing our halfbacks to get on the ball at pace with room outside.
•In the line on Wasps ball we will look for Kieran Read to mark Wentzel and cut out the main Wasps jumping option, leaving Day and the rest of our back 5 to try and poach the ball.
•We will test the Wasps wingers out, as they are both known to be caught on the turn. Myler will look to execute kick and chases and cross field kicks into the corners when he sees either out of position.
•In the 2nd half we can introduce the likes of Strauss, PDJ, Manoa and Wilson to up the tempo in the loose and at the set piece. Ryan Lamb can enter the fray and offer a different threat from flyhalf against tired legs.

General Gameplan;
With a solid home win at home last week the Falcons this week will get a chance to rotate some of the fringe players, in the away tie. This oppurtunity will allow some boys to put their hand up for selection in the run in, and allow fresh legs through out the game.
Our gameplan will be simple as we will look to get up in the opposition faces, not giving them a moment to spare. This will lead to pressure and this will generate to mistakes and penalties.
Our pack is fully committed to the Falcons cause and the grizzled front five along with the backrow will look to dominate the collisions and rucks to give us forward momentum. This will get us over the gainline each time, and causing the Worcester defence to always be on the back foot.
The quality possession from our clever and dynamic forward play will allow us to release our potent backline, with Hodgson looking to play intelligently by getting the ball away cleanly from rucks. This will allow Heathcote and Shingler to get on the ball in midfield and create mismatches so we can spread the ball out wide to our dangerous runners to make use of the space on offer.

Nice, bit of rain to make the ball slippy, should help negate the Gloucester slick offloading game a bit. Think I might be putting out a pretty big gnarly old side this week!!!

After securing a second win as many games last week, Exeter Chiefs make 4 changes in the pack, with Perry Freshwater, Simon Alcott, James Hanks and Ofisa Treviaranus replacing Brett Sturgess, Bismarck du Plessis, James Horwill and James Phillips for this weeks visit to Kingsholm. In the backs Ignacio Mieres and Luke Arscott replace Aaron Cruden and Paul Sackey, with Isa Nacewa moving to the wing.

Tactics
Our gameplan involves doing everything with a high intensity and asserting ourselves on our opponents, both in attack and defence. We will work as units and play a structured game (as the Chiefs and Saracens do in real life). We will put a lot of emphasis on the set piece, and look to use both as a real platform to play from, whilst not allowing our opponents to do the same. We will also look to use our big ball carriers to attack the gainline whilst having support runners on their shoulders to either take the offload or hit the ruck quickly as appropriate.
We will look to turn this game into a real slugfest, keeping the ball generally close to the ruck when carrying and looking to drag opposition forwards in and tying them up in rucks and mauls. Only when it is completey on will we look to go wide.
Specifics
- Attacking
- Play in the right areas - Mieres selected for his kicking game. He will look to kick for the corners and touch where we will contest lienouts, and also if the ball gets very slippery will but Garryowens up in the corners to test the handling of the Gloucester back three (wingers to get up quickly when we put the ball up).
- Take all points - Mieres will take every penalty at goal, and look to take any drop goal opportunities to build a lead.
- Defensive
- Blitz Defence - We will look to blitz and stop the Gloucester carriers before they hit the gainline. Thomas will sweep in behind the line.
- Breakdown - We will look to get our back row there quickly and contest for the ball if it's on to be won, but we will not overcommit, instead maintaining a sold defensive line to repel Gloucesters ball carriers.
- Key Points
- Form/Momentum/Confidence - We have won our last two and have momentum and confidence. Gloucester were hammered last week and have no momentum whatsoever.
- Conditions - Conditions are not great for running rugby so we have picked a big powerful side to execute a simple but effective gameplan.
- Freshness in the pack - We have freshened up our pack with 4 changes, ready for a battle. Gloucester have only changed their hooker from last weeks defeat so there must be some tiredness there.
- Backs - We have selected powerful, defensively solid backs to execute a simple plan. Gloucester have selected lighter backs with only 2 in the same shirts as last week, meaning there will have to be some confusion amongst them if executing complex backs moves.

General Game Plan:

Our pack will look to cause problems in the tight , grinding out the hard yards when needed and ruuning off Cips standing on the gain line. Chris Robshaw returns to lead the side and after a game and a bit over the last 2 weeks he'll be rareing to go alongside the battle harderned Nick Easter and Matt Kvesic will aim to cause problems on the deck.

This is a massive match and; after a big win last week we are on a high. It will be a clash of running backs and we will look to stop Barnes having any time on the ball. Lambie will look at running rugby and we will use Wood and JVN to lead the pack. We will look to play simple rugby in the backs with easy hands and exploiting the gaps when they come. We know Exeter are good at killing a match so will look for quick ball to prevent this and to take the points when possible.
Forwards
*Front row to look to get under their opposite numbers and get the edge up on Harden to release the back row.
*Look to target their lineout with Brown marshalling the troops here.
*Back rows all in excellent form wih JVN leading the way running off the backs and Savage and Qera looking to steal loose ball.
*Put pressure on Barnes to prevent him playing well and slowing down their ball.
*Use our bench wisely with Lawson, Hamilton and Narraway all excellent impact subs.
Backs
*Quick ball to Lambie when on the front foot, if not then look to pin them into the corners hitting touch.
*Centres to go route A straight through the defence looking for the offloads to the forward support or the back 3's who all have pace to burn.
*Wingers to run back any kicked ball looking for space and forwards to support them.
*EFS to lead an 'in your face' defence with a forward looking to steal/slow down ball at each breakdown.

We are welcoming Saracens to Edgeley Park, putting out a strong team that is ideal for the conditions. We have a strong front five, who will dominate the set piece and with a set of backs who are ideal for these conditions.
-Kubriashvili will target Gill at scrum time and will get the upper hand.
-Fourie is an out and out breakdown specialist and will completely control this area. Ensuring we win many turnovers.
- Sarries are without their normal lineout leader in Borthwick. They do not have a suitable replacement to run the lineout, with Kruis being far too inexperienced and none of their backrow being out and out lineout players. In the damp conditions we’ll be looking to play a high tempo game and limit the offloading with the greasy ball. We’ll be looking for big carries from our pack to free up space around the fringes for out talented backline to work in.
We will look to set a tone in the set piece with our big scrummaging front 5 and will look for the squeeze from the off. Deacon will lead the line and we will look to target the opposition's throw with Newby/Kitchener marshalling the front/middle of the line. We'll use big carries from our pack to draw in the opposition defence with Youngs marshalling and looking for gaps to exploit around the fringes.
Wallace & Newby will target the breakdown with Youngs sniping around and playing flat to the line to allow Barnes & Manu space to run into. JOC will come looking for the ball in midfield and link up with Manu causing problems in the opposition midfield. We'll look to refresh pack around 60mins + and keep up the intensity.
- Look to get JOC onto the ball as much as possible, look to use to loop with Tuilagi
- Barnes to kick whats on offer and keep the board ticking over
- Get Care on in second half to give him some game time in Tigers jersey

- Call for scrums when we can if we are getting the advantage we expect to. Joubert to control from the base.
- Look to all of our forwards to give us real go-forward with their carrying.
- At the breakdown we will look to counter ruck when possible, we will look to make a real nuisance of ourselves at the breakdown and compete when possible.
- Parra and James are given license to play the game as they see it. We do ask that they use our carrying and lineout ability to put pressure on the opposition, but if they see an opportunity to attack out wide - that is their call.
- Our back three are encouraged to do what they do best - counter attacking and running the ball back. All have good boots to rely on if it isn't on or they are isolated, but the counter is what we ask them to look for.
- Early on Parra to kick all penalites within range, but we won't necessarily go for the 3 points as the game progresses. Joubert to make the call dependant on the success of the lineout.

General Gameplan;
With a solid home win at home last week the Falcons this week will get a chance to rotate some of the fringe players, in the away tie. This oppurtunity will allow some boys to put their hand up for selection in the run in, and allow fresh legs through out the game.
Our gameplan will be simple as we will look to get up in the opposition faces, not giving them a moment to spare. This will lead to pressure and this will generate to mistakes and penalties.
Our pack is fully committed to the Falcons cause and the grizzled front five along with the backrow will look to dominate the collisions and rucks to give us forward momentum. This will get us over the gainline each time, and causing the Worcester defence to always be on the back foot.
The quality possession from our clever and dynamic forward play will allow us to release our potent backline, with Hodgson looking to play intelligently by getting the ball away cleanly from rucks. This will allow Heathcote and Shingler to get on the ball in midfield and create mismatches so we can spread the ball out wide to our dangerous runners to make use of the space on offer.
Key Points;
Set-pieces; With our powerful front five, we will get the drive on, on our ball to create space and time for our 8-9-10. Against their ball we will get the shove and attempt to wheel the scrum so that their 8 and 9 become isolated from their backline, here Nutley and Moody can wreak havoc and create turnover ball.
Lineouts: will be a solid supply for possession for us, as our pack contains four strong and athletic jumpers. Swinson will lead the lineouts and look to target the Worcester lineout. The pressure here will lead to mistakes and opportunities from scrums and penalties for us to take advantage of. We will always challenge their lineout, other than when we are on our own five metre, where will look to legally sack the jumper as soon as he lands on his feet.
Breakdowns; We have selected a very physical and committed team, and will always work for each other and put their bodies online for one another. Moody and Nutley will be first to all breakdowns and slow the opposition ball down legally, or turn it over. The pair of them will also look to hassle the 9 and the 10 to cut their time and space.
Defensive line; We won't commit more than two players to any of the rucks on their ball, unless the turnover is on. If they have won the ball we look to get into line and then press at the same speed. The scrum-half will sweep behind, with the fullback also further back - creating three lines of defence.
Backs; We will look to play some simple rugby at this stage against a good team at home. Backs to be clever look for mismatches and numbers advantages to work opportunities to put our wingers or whoever is spare over the try line. Heathcote and Shingler will direct traffic offering a spark to get an exciting midfield moving. Shingler will step into first receiver to mix things up and keep the defence guessing.

- Use the set piece as a platform to build attacks. At scrum time, we have 5 big front row scrummagers at our disposal to compete. If it's not going our way, Halrinordoquy to pick and go to set it up.
- Similarly with the lineout, use jumpers Kennedy, Pocock and Gibson. Opt for full lineouts in their half to tie in their pack and go for off-the-top ball to get wide quickly.
- Target the breakdown for possible turnovers, with Pocock staying strong on his feet. When they arise, two quicks balls away and go. Backs, forwards, back yourselves.
- Be disciplined at the breakdown, with a guard and bodyguard at every breakdown to stop those easy yards around the fringes. No excuses here.
- Big runners off Geraghty to give us real go forward. Occasionally look for the inside ball off 9 or 10 to cut them apart. The space will come, and when it does, we go.
- Play to our strenths. Our pack can compete at the set piece but where we can really hurt sides is out wide. Look to get outside their guards and bodyguards to suck in more and more forwards at each breakdown, giving space out wide.
- Allinson to prawl behind the defense line and mop up any breaks or half breaks. Patrol the breakdown area and keep an eye up for numbers.
- Play rugby in their half. Allinson and Geraghty to put us in the right places and alow us to use our lineout weapon.
- Homer to go for points at every opportunity.We can have a pop from anywhere in their half. Make them scared to give away penalties in their half, thus giving us more time at the breakdown.

Sale 19 - 14 Saracens
Sale have a great big front five, which will help them to secure scrum ball and make it easy for Peel and Wilkinson. Sarries really miss Borthwick at the lineout and I'm not sure that all their forwards have been rested enough yet. Don't see any stand out players in the Sarries backline, think they lack form and spark. Fourie and Tuity are a great partnership and the back three of Miller and Amesbury has two men in form. Sale have enough here at home.

Irish 9 - 15 Tigers
In wet conditions, the power of the Tigers pack and quality at 8 9 10 12 makes the difference. Having such a powerful and experienced spine is a huge asset. I considered that Irish would challenge at home, but i think they lacked some spark at halfback and that their scrum would struggle. Perhaps the convincing factor was the quality on the Tiger's bench in almost all positions, which will close this one out.

Gloucester 25 - 17 Exeter
With the changes that Exeter have made, I can't see them getting the solid platform they need to execute the gameplan, that they do so well at home. Gloucester have some big lumps in that pack and the form of Harden and Duiwicky thing helps, but Prop is right, that back row is in cracking form and i think it is a great little unit. Not sure that Morgan will have an impact off the bench because of his lack of form. Exeter have a mini come back in the second half with the quality off the bench, but the damage has already been done.
