Jesse Sorensen
Last night live on ppv Jesse Sorensen got hit with a botched moonsault causing the dreaded X to go up. Replays showed Zema Ion landed knee first on the side of Jesses head from a moonsault. Not only was Jesse unconscious but didn't appear to have any feeling in his body.
No more news has yet come out except for Jesse being rushed to hospital. To put things into perspective Jesse is 22 and only just starting his career.
My thoughts are with him and his family today

Re: Jesse Sorensen
Holy crap!
I've seen a few of his matches and really liked him - looked like a future X Divsion champion. Best wishes to him for a speedy recovery.

Re: Jesse Sorensen
Knee first on his head? That is a serious botch. When performing a moonsault you should always err on making sure you land leg side than head/neck side. Knee first also means he seriously underhit the sault.
Hope Jesse is ok. These things can happen, especially on moves such as the moonsault. I bet Zema Ion feels awful.

Re: Jesse Sorensen
TNA have confirmed its a neck injury but that's all they've said so far, tests are ongoing.

i think he looks like orton. anyway, vid's there if you wanna have a look. poor angle to see it from although jesse is concious at the end of the match and is even moving his neck around, have only watched it to the count out though, not afterwards.

Jeezo thats a dull yin. Hope hes alright, shame to see a career ended before it begins.
When i was reading it first It brought back images of Billy Kidman botching a Shooting Star on Chavo. That was pretty ugly.

UPDATE:
"TNA wrestler Jesse Sorensen remains hospitalized with a neck injury that
occurred at the Against All Odds pay-per-view on Sunday. He has feeling
in his arms and is able to move them. He has a tingling sensation in
his legs but is unable to move his legs at this time. Sorensen's spirits
are said to be high despite the circumstances. "
Awful awful news, hopefully he'll make a full recovery.

Re: Jesse Sorensen
That is really bad - the issue was that it was a moonsault on a standing opponent so it seemed as though Jesse may have unfortunately not been in the right position to receive the move... obviously brings back memories of R Truth and Miz a week ago where Miz was too far away and here where Jesse was too close.
Hope he makes a recovery or if nothing else is able to recover full mobility and carry on with his life.

Re: Jesse Sorensen
Prowrestling.net is reporting that Sorensen suffered a broken C-1 vertebrae, which connects the spine to the skull.
That's all the news I can add atm

Re: Jesse Sorensen
Awful news. Looks like Jesse could be out for a while if he's lost movement in his legs.
If all he's getting is a tingling sensation it could be fairly severe nerve damage. Whatever the problem is, I hope the docs are able to fix it.

Re: Jesse Sorensen
That looked bad, hope he makes a full recovery. Doing moonsaults on a standing opponent, in the ring are risky enough, without doing them outside the ring.

I'm guessing this has the same effect that a piledriver would have if botched.

Update:
Injured TNA wrestler Jesse Sorensen showed significant improvement on
Monday after fracturing his C1 vertebrae at Sunday's Against All Odds
pay-per-view. He is said to be getting the feeling back in his legs
slowly but surely, and doctors now expect a full recovery.

Re: Jesse Sorensen
Very glad to hear he's making progress! I was really worried seeing the amount of time they spent on him without moving him, you never want to see a guy go down like that.

Re: Jesse Sorensen
I bet Zema Ion is relieved. Any word on whether they've been in contact or not?
Good news though, glad he's recovering.

Re: Jesse Sorensen
Too bad. A year's a long time in wrestling.
Still, the important thing is he makes a full recovery and hopefully returns to the ring fully fit. At least at his age he's got time on his side.

Re: Jesse Sorensen
I hope he does make a full recovery. Personally i think hes got a good career ahead of him!
Just watching the PPV now and they cut the moonsault out. I watched the moonsault on DM and it looked more like a flip than a moonsault..Zema finishes the move far too high and is already bringing his legs back around by the time he reaches Sorensens head. The knees are always going to be the first thing that comes into contact with Sorensen...its had pain written all over it. Even if Sorensen had been closer those knees were smacking him somewhere! Ouch

Update, he's out of hospital and back at home. Good sign but I really hope he's not trying to rush things.

Re: Jesse Sorensen
Thats good then With things like spine injuries I cant imagine the Docs would let him out unless they were sure. Sounds like he is healing nicely! Does have youth on his side too though.

Usually a good sign (docs have been known to miss things and discharge patients before they should). Assuming all is well, I hope he takes his rehab nice and slow and gives himself plenty of time to make sure he's fully fit before getting back in the ring.
