Hi All

What is everyone betting on in the Super Bowl, always makes it a bit more intreseting if there is money on the line. Still trying to learn the game and don't really know what kind of bets to go for

I haven't bet on the Super Bowl since the Saints-Colts and can't bring myself to to do it this year. Don't wanna jinx the Gmen.

Check out any high street bookie website and they usually have a NFL section. Best one I think is Coral.

on betfair the NE are slight favourites
NE @ 1.74 and NY @ 2.32

i like the look of the halftime/fulltime bets
either NE/NY at 9/1 or NY/NE at 7/1

Moot, how's the first set of odds work? Is that like £1.74 returned for every £1 bet? I see what you mean about the half time odds!

something like that (I'm no expert), you get 74p profit for every quid wagered

the halftime/fulltime bets were '10' and '8', which i reckon are 9/1 and 7/1 in old money Erm

I usually have a flutter on the Superbowl. Never had much success though! Laugh

Last time I won anything was when I had a tenner on the Pats at a ludicrous 4/1 just to beat the Rams. Only time I've ever seen it worthwhile sticking anything on a team simply to win.

I like the half time odds above although I reckon NE will be winning at HT and FT and I can't imagine that will be so attractive. Think I might go for NE to win by 13-18 - I see Ladbrokes are doing that at 8/1.

Victor Cruz to score the first TD isn't bad value at 8/1.

Latest HT/FT odds on betfair
NE/NE 2.64
NE/NY 10.5
NY/NY 3.8
NY/NE/8.2

I've just dug out a slip from August where I put £2 on the Pats and £2 on the Eagles.

I'll get £15 if my beloved Giants lose.

Classic moment of media day... Deion Sanders to Tom Brady... "Tom, can Chad get a ball?"

Maybe it's a sign

hmm, first scoring play to not be a td or field goal @ 100/1, surely worth putting a couple of quid down on that, I smell Wilfork running one back 90yards on the Giants first drive Very Happy

I have this feeling about Ochocinco tonight... putting him for a winning TD?

Unfortunately my betfair account was not working (haven't used it for a while so assume it went inactive), so I didn't put a bet on this in the end .... needless to say I'm gutted.

On this site there are two photos of Eva Longoria making what the caption-writer mistakenly calls a scorecard. It's in fact a betting pool common in bars and offices in the US. You sign your name and place your bet. The winner of each quarter is whose signed box matches the last digits for each team.

Is this form of betting common in the UK?
