We're 1 Year old!

The site is now a year old!
Looking back a year when the Beeb announced they were to close 606 and I thought that no I didn't want to suddenly lose touch with all the people I'd chatted away for hours with, I never quite thought that this would be the result.
Thank you, each and everyone of you.

It's not been a smooth ride, there's been fallings out, tears and tantrums (mainly from Adam). But in just 365 days we're coming upto 1 million posts on the site, we've got just shy of 4,000 members and we've grown beyond our wildest dreams.
We've had Q&A sessions with several sporting stars, we've got Twitter accounts for most sections, prizes on offer from companies and we want it to continue. If you have any ideas in how to continue to grow v2 please let us know and feel free to spread the word!

I also want to give a HUGE thanks to the other Admin and Mods. These guys don't get paid for these roles, nor do they do it for power trips etc. They do it because they want this place to succeed and make it welcoming and kept in the right spirit that you all deserve. They all deserve a big pat on the back!

Would echo the general good will and congratulatory feel, excellent site, and many thanks to the mods who do what can often be a largely thankless task in as even handed a way as one could hope.

Congratulations and a big thank you to everyone involved in the creation and maintance of 606v2! It's a great place to chat, voice opinion and debate on the issues that are important to you. There's a great mixture of banter, well informed posters and varied opinions that create some interesting debates across the differing topic boards. One major difference that I have noticed from the old bbc site and other incarnations of 606 is the community atmosphere and the respect feel across the forum, on so may other sites posters are quick to slate articles, posts and opinions just for the sake of it or in the interests of 'wumming'! The apparent lack of this on v2 is the reason I joined and stayed!

Keep up the good work and long may it last.

Excellent work it really is, dont know how you possibly get the time, I mean I had to leave the FFA cos work actually made me do work, bar stewards they are!!
But now things are quiter am back on the Wrestling boards, massive appreciation for the time you put into this site and look forward to another year!!

I think an annual amnesty where all banned members are allowed back, is surely the way to celebrate and grow.

During the golf boards civil war of December 2011 (sad times………..very sad times…..) it was mentioned by some admins that something big was in store for the golf section. Just wondering what this is or did something fail to materialise?
