Gatland will be mental not to make Halfpenny 1st choice kicker.

It winds me up so much that the 10 is always the first choice place kicker. No better example as to why this is a bad idea came in the rugby world cup. Hook and Jones both missing billions of easy kicks when Halfpenny was, has and will always be the best kicker for a number of years.

Yes he has a monster boot, but this doesn't mean he should just be used for the "lottery penalties". As we have seen with the Blues lately, he hardly misses any and nails them from anywhere.

If Priestland is out because on injury and Mathew Morgan is not in the squad, then surely Steven Jones should be brought back into the squad, atleast for his experience.

I haven't seen enough of HP kicking to be an expert but against Leinster recently he missed an easy one from short range straight in front of the posts at a crucial moment.Had he made it Cardiff were looking good to come from behind and win but the miss sucked the life out of their revival.

Was that a one off or is he prone to those kind of moments where it seems he just lost concentration,there's nothing else I can think of to explain such a miss.

Halfpenny was always seen predominently as a long range kicker which a lot of the time is a shot tonothing anyway.

Id give the job to 1/2p, but Priestland is a good kicker also so were not short of choice, if one player issues a few on the day then change him.

1/2p kicking was superb for the Blues today, Ben Blair class.

7/8 with the miss being from behind halfway.
