AJ Styles Injured

AJ Styles has suffered an injury at the hand of Bully Ray at a recent taping of Impact!

It looks like his hands were locked around Rays head to force himself to stay as upright as possible but the lock slipped slightly and he took more of an impact than intended.

Hopefully it's nothing too serious.

AJ is gaining some real momentum at the moment I hope they put him in a slow burning program which is a quest for the title which he ultimately achieves. TNA need to push someone all the way and not cut them off once they think they are over, they need to really really get behind one individual in order to try and make that next Stone cold or rock. I felt that if they had continued with Anderson they could have made him hugely popular, but he has dropped off a bit what with the return of Sting.

I do think though that Jeff Hardys loss will be Andersons gain.

Expect him to turn heel and feud with Sting

Is AJ's injury legit or some kind of angle?

Well we all know that very few TNA stars use kayfabe in their Twitter accounts.

I found out about this after a tweet from Matt Morgan earlier that simply said: -

That makes it seem legit...and fairly serious to be honest.

It was an angle, no? Surely as it was taped they wouldn't have shown it if it wasn't meant to happen.

Plus he's on next week's show if I remember right from the spoilers.

I just thought it strange that Morgan put that on his Twitter...they don't normally use their accounts for Kayfabe.

Nope, only if he's involved in the beatdown by Abyss, and he's not on the 31/3 show, i've just checked.

Ok Beer, maybe it is for real. I do think though that if it was a work that's exactly how they would have done the spot. It's very TNA to try and make it look as real as possible.

I still lean towards it being part of a storyline.

I watched it last night, and he really did seem to lay in the corner of the ring for a long time cradling his hands - and the camera didn't hover on him like it was trying to make it obvious (from what I remember)

Injuries can happen at any time. TNA superstars are professionally trained performers. The moves that we do in the ring takes years of practice to perfect and do safely, we urge all of our fans to never copy what we do in the ring, at home or at school. Please don't try this.

Has AJ ruptured a disc which has fragmented into his spinal column?

If so his wife and kids must be pretty worried, bet you they're hiding behind the weights machine as we speak.

Do TNA actually broadcast any of these? I've not seen any, but I don't watch religiously (mostly when the wife's not recording something)

And is there anything supporting your fragmented disc, or was that a jokey hint at Chris Benoit? I really hope it's the joke, because I think AJ's been doing really well recently from what I read and (occasionally) watch....

I'm fairly certain that TNA don't do the "Don't try this at home" ads.

The fragmented disc was in reference to the WWE "Don't try this at home" ads.

As I said it's hard to tell. TNA Wrestlers usually use their Twitter accounts as their own...out of character. However Matt Morgan has tweeted that AJ is in his and his wife's prayers. That would lead me to think it is legit.

Saying that there is nothing from Daniels or Joe on the situation and I would expect them to say something.

Would TNA show it if it was legit? Yes I believe they would. Let's face it...they aren't the greatest when it comes to making big calls (See Hardy @ Victory Road as proof).

I guess only time will tell.

He's had over 200 stitches, he's suffered a dozen concussions, he's broken bones, he's separated shoulders, damn near broke his neck, he's blown out knees but he still got up....oh wait...


All joking aside I hope AJ's ok and this is just an angle. Can't find anything on the websites saying that he's legitimately injured.

Thing is, why would TNA book an injury angle when AJ Styles (and Fortune) are a pretty prominent part of what's happening on TV right now?

The only thing I can think of is if he already has an injury that he needs to take time off for.

Or else TNA are clueless.

Just watched impact and im calling for it being a work,
Watch it front the angle facing Ray, you can see a good 3 crash mats, and the way he landed, with that amount of padding I would be very shocked if it was a legit injury
Moreover I hope it isnt, Tna would be hit hard if hes out for a while. :/

I like AJ but for me he aint no leader, they are trying to make him the second coming of Ric Flair but they should be using Shawn Micheals as the guy to base him on, i think Robert Roode would flourish without AJ taking the spotlight

One thing I noticed about AJ Styles injury last night....

The wouldn't eves drop Kaz on the phone to AJ's wife or film him being loaded into an Ambulance, I don't think TNA should be making the reds do X signs tho when its a work
