It'll make a great movie!

You all must know by now the story of Dewey Bozella. A man who was wrongfully convicted of murder, and spent 26 years of his life behind bars. Whilst he was in prison he learnt how to fight and earned a degree. Bozella lived the dream by making his pro debut on the Hopkins v Dawson fight card and won at 52 years of age. The man is in great shape and I think he is boxing's answer to Nelson Mandela. After the absolute farce of the Hophins v Dawson bout at least boxing was able to offer up a ray of light on an otherwise dissapointing night.

Spent 26 years in prison for a crime he did not commit, kept his dignity and educated himself and came out of prison as an inspiration.

Look at the shape he was in TRUSS. This fight was just a 1 off, he went to Goldenboy who in turn got the go ahead by the boxing administration.

Hardly Mandela. But why did he serve 26 years, I thought he was only sentenced to 20?

The guy he was fighting mustve been rubbish! losing to a 52 year old whos been in jail for 26 years and only making his debut!

That's what I was thinking Waingro!! Who was his opponent, a 60-something-year old in a wheelchair with a dream of fighting Pacman for the title?

Lets be honest it makes a nice story but how nice would the story be if he got sparked out?? I reckon they made sure he won it would not look good if a 52 year old guy boxed on a big car in his first fight and got absoltely destroyed people would complain.

Only just. He nearly got DQd after spitting out his gumshield about 6/7 times in the last round.

At the end of the day, will power can be an incredible driving force, like when a parent protects their child or other incredible acts of super human abilities...

This bloke has effectively missed out on life, unfairly it seems. Now obviously a normal 52 year old couldnt do this, but he isnt ordinary. He has nothing to lose, as he has lost it all. A great liberation I'm sure you will agree.

Now, talk of world titles etc are silly and far fetched beyond belief, but I for one wish him every success, sounds like he deserves it. Better to try and fail than to not bother.

They weren't going to put him in with VK were they. What a great end to his dream, getting carried out on a stretcher, that would have been.

Terrible that a federal judge threw out his claim for compensation - to be falsely imprisoned for 26 years and not be compensated for it is disgusting, and I hope the decision is overturned on appeal...

One things for sure when the legal eagles get a grip of this he's going to be able to open his own boxing gym with the compo he'll receive.

Have to say this for Dewey, he's a far better fighter than his brother's Louie and Huey. He's seen off larry hopkins and i fancy him to beat his next opponent bernard holmes. Can he go on to bigger and better things? I'm donald ducked if I know.
