Manning Injury Update

Can anyone confirm this? I got this from Footballguys half an hour ago

The latest on Colts QB Peyton Manning. Jake Query, a radio host on WNDE in
Indianapolis is reporting that sources are telling him that Peyton Manning
is out for the year.

Query posted this on his twitter feed today:

"What I (Query) said: A source I consider reliable told me he is out for the
season. I do believe that the actual diagnosis is still being determined"

Query then followed that with: "I (Query) was also told the 3rd procedure has
taken place, either Sun or Monday."

None of the usual NFL sources confirming it yet, so I would take it with a pinch of salt for now

For the sake of my fantasy team I sure hope not...

I've so far only heard about missing the first game. There is so much rumor around the whole thing that lies will come flying left right and centre. Until a source such as NFl.com, ESPN etc. has it, I ain't believing it!

I read somewhere he will definitely miss the first game and may have to have an operation.

Official: Sources say Manning had surgery this am - cervical fusion with 2-3 month minimum recovery.No word on whether he will be put on IR.

Peyton Manning had a cervical fusion on his neck today. I had a the same procedure in 08. Idk what level his is but if it's the same one I had. He's gonna be out for awhile if not the entire season.

I like watching Peyton play. More than likely Peyton doesn't play this season.

There are going to be some cracking trades offered in fantasy now. Bet those who picked him feel like they reached. I'll consider letting Freeman go for the right price.

I feel ashamed that I "reached" for Manning at number 56!

Kevin Kolb better turn out out be damn good as a starter!

Its up on NFL.com. No return date. Well, guess no playoffs for the Colts fans this year (and no, I won't trade Rivers for Manning )

Possibly... I was eying him up, but I think i'm alright with Kolb for a couple of weeks as his schedule starts of fairly decent.

I see the Colts have re-signed Dan Orlovsky who they cut in the Summer, yet further proof they not only don't rate Painter and Collins but that they also don't want a winning season !

Orlovsky I remember in a Lions game a few years ago running out the back of the end zone completely unaware where he was resulting in a safety, I'm sure they lost the game by a point !

He's spent his entire career as third on the QB roster but given the state of the QB situation in Indy I expect he'll start games soon.

Colts probably fabs for the #1 pick IMO....

Grizz - Collins suffered a concussion Sunday. I he can't go don't they only have Painter on the roster then?

I've certainly lost fair in Manning's ability to return this year... why bother?

OK - cheers Skins, have to confess to having zero interest in the Colts this year and not making a habit of reading up on them...

Yeah they're a bit thin at QB at the moment.

I don't see any reason for Manning to even attempt a return this year.

Well they still have Manning on the active roster too.

You know I meant the game day roster didn't you?
