Seeing that the world cup is about to begin and I would much rather discuss rugby than harp on about foul play incidents that occured in the heat of the battle, i thought it would be prudent set up an article specifically for this purpose.

So it would be good if anyone that has a rant about any specific player, and after many years of therapy has not been able to get over it, you can place your rant and hatred for such a player on here.

This would hopefully keep the board clean for proper rugby debate.

It does not matter what country a player is from if he is a gouger then he should never ever be allowed to forget that fact.
We need to eradicate this cowardly act from our game and we as fans need to make players aware that it's totally unacceptable.

Pretty much. Brooke's definitely a cheap-shot merchant - Merhtens, Mehrt's sister, MacDonald, that girl in Fiji, ... .

Though Loe had his cheap-shot moments - Paul Carozza's nose, and the gouge on Greg Cooper. He's not a bad columnist nowadays mind - I wonder if there was a bit of living up to being "Griz Wyllie's son-in-law" at times.

Talking about cheap shots, did anyone watch Bradford v Wigan in May this year? Just as a Wigan player was diving over the line to score a Bradford player actually punched him in the head and the lad scored whilst unconscious. Brutal stuff.

The cheap shot I always remembers, mainly cause it had no effect, was 99 RWC NZ vs England, when Lomu scored a try and was getting up when Dallaglio smacked him as he was going coming back.

Lomu just looked at him and walked back up to the half way line. I thought then, geeze, that's a tough guy, Lawrence's not a small dude!

The rest of the ABs jumped in for Lomu ha. He just let them scrap while he was strutting back to halfway.

Martin Johnson was no angel, though more niggle than outright thuggery.

I was at the game in 94 where Le Roux bit Fitzpatrick. TV didn't see Fitzy holding the guy down and mashing his head into the dirt a few seconds beforehand lol.

Thug? Cooper's more of a p***y. He's probably trying to hurt people, really, but I doubt he does too much damage. Though it's a good thing he's one of the smallest players on the field as someone Botha's size could do some real damage. Imagine McCaw if that was Bakkies' knee?! Concussed out of the first few games!
