Lorenzo of the Garlic speaks out
Laurence Dall'aglio has aparently told the RFU to, "get it's house in order". Tough words from a tough man.
My question is, why is Larry not involved in the England set up? My feeling is he would compliment Martin Johnson perfectly.
Put it to you this way, if Laurence was travelling to NZ with the English All Blacks, my feeling is England would exceed expectations.
Why is Larry not involved more? Is he moving into coaching / management?
Has he any plans to?

Pretty sure he's involved in the Wasps' hierarchy somewhere? Think it might be on the commercial/mktg side?

Hmm.. he seems to have lots to say. I think he'd do a great job for England. Certainly put the fear of God in a few lads..

Not sure about him being a good addition to the coaching side of things. He could be a handy PR man though as he's good at talking. As far as I know he's busy working with Wasps and distributing his pasta sauces (which are surprisingly good).

Dayglo has won 2 world cups, has his own pasta sauce range and sang on We Don't Need Another Hero.
Surely he's earned a quiet retirement

Yeah I used to live in Italy and the pasta sauce is big there- Sacla'.
Eaten by the locals too... fair play. I just reckon he'd have the personality and the persona to be a big adittion.
As mentioned, he's won everything. Quite literally...

Won a 7's world cup.
Is it just me or does that not count. Its a separate sport.

Well, I'm not sure the sauce or the Tina Turner song count either. Maybe it's because the Irish don't do sauces or sing on Tina Turner records?

Lawrence Dallaglio's not behind Sacla', I'm sure he has his own brand.

Re: Lorenzo of the Garlic speaks out
Thank God that's sorted out!
"I absolutely love them, as does my family, we put them in pasta, on pizza but personally I just love eating them straight from the jar!"
Dallaglio is truly a man's man.

Ah okay, so Sacla' do a Dallaglio version. I thought you were saying he created Sacla' as a company.

I bet if you asked him he'd say he did! In fact he'd probably claim to have invented pastaluckless_pedestrian wrote:I thought you were saying he created Sacla' as a company.

Isn't Dayglo Irish on his mother's side? I'm sure she got used to sauces married to an Italian.
The absence of any English blood in his veins probably explains the interest in sauces, though being brought up in England probably explains the tina turner stuff.

His mother was half-Irish.
Gravy is a sauce!
I cannot defend the Tina Turner connection.

Re: Lorenzo of the Garlic speaks out
He was part of a choir that performed on one of her singles.
Though given the opportunity he probabley would, I've heard as a player he was prominant around the bars in London during the 6N making sure all the young ladies knew who he was...

Tina Turner's hardly a young lady, but she loves her rugby. Remember when she was guest pundit at the 1991 World Cup?

Maybe, but he was smitten and got hold of her number years later. He wooed her with pasta sauce-related chat-up lines.

Re: Lorenzo of the Garlic speaks out
Where do you start?
Perhaps England think one guy with no real coaching or management ecdperience is enough?
Then lts move on to the fact he has nver gotten over losing the captaincy to Johnson.
Legally we arent allowed to mention the reason he lost the cpataincy
To get him inetrested they would have to prise him away from sonia or whchevr bt of blonde fluff the bbc has wheeled out to stand nect to him.
Then lets not forget he was a heavy criticof Johnsons appointment and managemnt (till the team started winning). Lets also not forget that he was firmly in the pro cipriani camp, only one winner of that argument.
Theres alot of things that Johnson and the chinned wonder would do in a job together, but compliment each other probably isnt top of the list
