Shocking news. Andrew Symonds was a real character and a remarkably talented cricketer. I'm still in shock after hearing this.

Apparently he was the sole occupant and rolled his car at 11pm on Hervey Range Road near Alice River Bridge, just west of Townsville.

Terrible news, I don't think it's overselling it to say that Symonds was the prototype of the modern white ball all rounder.

Awful news.

As well as being a fantastic cricketer Symonds was such a fun cricketer to watch which can be an underrated value in a player.

A very tough period for Aussie cricket.

Still has the fastest Blast 100 of all time. Was miles ahead of his time in white ball cricket. Such a tragic loss.

Almost exactly 20 years since Ben Hollioake lost his life in a car crash too. So awful.
