Interesting read on the WRU.

This article by Paddy French is doing the rounds on the rugby forums today.

The article is suggesting that back in 2006 ITV Wales may have pulled a story investigating the business interests of a senior person at the WRU, and summarised the alleged content of ths story. The article then insinuates/alleges that the ITV Wales' decision may have been driven by commercial considerations around the 2007 RWC TV coverage and then makes further observations about where certain persons employed at ITV Wales work now.

Very iffy if you ask me. Looks like what we always say. Politic and Politicians don't always work the ethical way that you think/expect. And the WRU is full of Politics and wannabe Politicians.

Smells a bit fishy I have to say. I wonder if the Welsh press will investigate?

They will investigate, then nothing will happen. Oh until about two years time when the head of S4C, and the BBC Wales cheif take up big money roles in the WRU

Stronger reaction to the story elsewhere. This could have legs. We'll have to wait and see I guess.

The way I see it Beeb and S4C may feel the same pressure ITV, reportedly, felt with regards not wanting to lose TV rights, so will not want to run the story as it will be bad for WRU relations.

ITV won't want to run a story that basically makes them look bad.

So unless Sky, or a newspaper (Not the Western Fail though) pick it up then sadly it is going nowhere.

what's being said on other sites Dave, or is it too libelous to repeat ?

100% right.......bbc wales & s4c wouldn't touch it.......welsh rugby is their bread & butter. ALLEGEDLY the wru have already made that clear to them.

This could shatter any dreams of a political future if these allegations are true..

Nice to see Welsh rugby in such safe hands. Interesting what the rugby clubs make of this report.

The issue isnt the link and what others have said on other sites, although posting a link to those, I believe opens you up to the same libelous actions as you are propergating the said allegations.
 
The issue is going to be all the responses you get from posters on this site, who may post a libelous reply by accident or intentional, when they read the posted links...
