What next for boxing?

After the haye/klitschko fight...and if pacquiao/mayweather ever happens...what is going to be the next 'big' thing and who do you see becoming the next superstar of boxing?

Nonito Donaire versus Yuriorkis Gamboa - what a dream fight that would be in 2012 if Donaire can move up to 126 lb and still be effective. The fact that neither of them are British or American means that it won't garner the same interest over here or world wide as the fights you've mentioned did / would, but it's still a mega fight, no doubt about it. After Pacquiao and Mayweather have gone, it's going to be between these two for the title of being the world's best, pound for pound.

Don't underestimate the significance of the upcoming Froch-Ward bout, either. There aren't all that many fighters around who can claim, one hundred percent, to be the very, very top man in their division, but the winner of that fight will certainly have a more than legitimate claim and will cement themselves as a top ten pound for pound fighter beyond any doubt.

Outside of that, Gamboa-Lopez still has the potential to be a cracker if it gets made, as does Khan-Bradley. But in terms of who is going to be the biggest star in the sport in a year or two, it's got to be Gamboa for me. He's an absolute joy to watch and, for my money, will establish himself as a modern great within the next two years.
