Sean Wright RIP Empty Sean Wright RIP

Post by Gaelic-Warrior Thu Jun 30, 2011 4:58 pm

Former Kerry footballer Sean Wright has passed away this morning at the age of 47 after a short battle with Cancer. Glasgow-born Wright played for the Listowel Emmets club and for Kerry in the 1982 minor football final. After attracting AFL scouts he became the first player to move to Australia as part of the infamous "Irish Experiment" and had a successful career with the Melbourne AFL team. He played alongside Jim Stynes who said of him- "He was probably the most competitive and greatest athlete I ever played footie with."
