SURREY VS HAMPSHIRE BOB WILLIS TROPHY - Page 2 Empty SURREY VS HAMPSHIRE BOB WILLIS TROPHY

First topic message reminder :

MORNE MORKEL & JASON ROY HAVE BOTH BEEN NAMED IN THE 13-MAN SQUAD FOR THE BOB WILLIS TROPHY FIXTURE WITH HAMPSHIRE AT ARUNDEL. Very Happy
Morkel arrived in the UK earlier this week after travel restrictions had prevented the bowler from joining up with the squad before the start of the shortened season.
Roy is now available for selection after England’s ODI series with Ireland.
Tom Curran has been made unavailable for selection by the ECB. mad mad mad
Laurie Evans has had his loan from Sussex extended for this game. However, Adam Finch has returned to parent club Worcestershire with a slight thigh strain.
After back-to-back appearances in the Bob Willis Trophy, James Taylor is rested for this fixture.
Rory Burns, Sam Curran and Ollie Pope are all playing in the ongoing Test with Pakistan while Ben Foakes remains in the bubble in Southampton. Rolling Eyes
Hashim Amla remains in South Africa and the Club continue to work to secure a visa and travel arrangements for the batsman.
Jade Dernbach is progressing on his back-to-bowling programme. Jordan Clark (side strain), Liam Plunkett (hamstring), Reece Topley (groin) and Nicholas Kimber (knee) are sidelined for this one.
There is still no update on Nico Reifer
FULL SQUAD:
Mark Stoneman (capt)
Gus Atkinson
Scott Borthwick
Rikki Clarke
Matt Dunn
Laurie Evans
Will Jacks
Daniel Moriarty
Morne Morkel
Ryan Patel
Jason Roy
Jamie Smith (wk)
Amar Virdi
Getting sicked and tired of the Treatment of T.Curran and Foakes especially the latter.
Maybe Atkinson and Moriarty to miss out, very hard to call this one
Over to you chaps thumbsup

Full credit to Hants and particularly the guys who came into their side.

Surrey though batted terribly in both innings. Sure, some good senior players are missing. However, Patel and Jacks should be stepping up and making the most of these opportunities whilst Stoneman and Borthwick should be leading from the front.

Hugely disappointed. Not so much the loss but the manner of it.

could this prove costly?
IT DID

It was effectively all over by then anyway and so I certainly won't blame Smith for the loss. However, JimBob is right to flag how Virdi ended up on strike at the end. Poor and thoughtless cricket which sums us up currently.

20 yo Smith faced 127 balls over both innings, over a quarter of the actual 82 overs we as a team received. Seems to be the only one with any application and guts for the fight, but everyone should hold their heads in shame, a big innings defeat in a game that lasted only 2 days, and was only scheduled to last 180 overs with the weather

I'd like to know why Moriarty was left out after the first game after taking 6 wickets.
