Hot Sauce thread
I always hated spicy food, but last year I woke up with an intense craving for spicy food and I've not looked back. For a mild sauce for I'll use Cholula, for wings usually Franks and for something with a bit more bite some Pain is Good but I'm after something a bit different.
Suggestions? Tips? Gaviscon?

Re: Hot Sauce thread
I think I’ve tried the Maggi Malaysian one before that was pretty good.
I picked up some of Morrison’s own brand ghost chilli sauce this morning for £1 a bottle. Had it on a sandwich earlier and it’s pretty good for a quid!

The Encona stuff is pretty good and a wide variety. They do a West Indian inspired sauce that’ll blow your hole off.

If you can go from zero spicy to liking Ghost chilli sauce, that’s pretty impressive.Eejit wrote:I think I’ve tried the Maggi Malaysian one before that was pretty good.

Ever tried growing your own chillis? Pretty straight forward and there’s loads of them to try and if you have them, there’s plenty of good recipes out there - chilipeppermadness.com is a good place to start and I can recommend the Ti-Malice sauce from there. Watch yourself if preparing fresh chillis (don’t touch anything sensitive if you’ve handled hot fresh chillis!) - often good rubbing veg oil onto skin before handling as the capsaicin is fat soluble and then washes off with the oil rather than getting into the skin as badly.

Re: Hot Sauce thread
Cheap and cheerful, essentials hot sauce is a quid and is fairly spicy, but not overpowering
for pure taste

Re: Hot Sauce thread
Make your own, hot chillis (whatever you prefer) tomato sauce (or chopped toms if you don't want it too sweet) and some vinegar, heat it all up in a pan and done.
Either that or Habanero Tabasco is pretty good
