This is just so funny. Delighted to have the Heineken Cup back. Heineken really promoted it very well (in Ireland anyway) with all radio shows etc. Everyone knew that the HCup was on.

Called the Heineken Cup with sponsorship with Sponsorship at £12 million or so
Call it the Champions Cup with a wish that there will be 4 sponsors paying £4 million or so each
End up calling it the Heineken Cup with one sponsor at £6m

Well it's good that a modicum of sense has returned to the hallowed plastic pitches of rugby union.

Now all we need is a return to five Irish Provinces getting automatic entry into the top contest every year (that's the four Provinces and my village ) and all will be a level playing field once more in the old Loaded Dice Heineken Cup of yesteryear.
