Thanks for organising this for yet another year sportform. Indeed I am keen to defend my title but the first week choices are looking like tough picks. An energised and rightly confident Scotland against a proud Welsh side playing at home. The unpredictable French playing at home against the favourites in my opinion... Will the Italians bamboozle (*for 6 minuets!] the English again? Who knows, but it’s going to be fun finding out over the next few weeks.

Anyway, here goes:

Lots of people going for 3 away wins. Not sure that happens too often so could get good odds on it in an accumulator at the bookies.

Not great - Wales are only slight favourites, Ireland are 4/9 favourites and England are 1/16 so it wouldn't be a big turn up for the books to happen.

Willy hill gives you 2.45/1 for all 3.

Ask Irish players. They do something every year. They seem to wait for us and then beat the shyte out of us. They may not always win, but they always beat the shyte out of us. So the Irish players expect nothing but buckets of blood and hopefully to be still conscious by the time the final whistle blows. That's all you can hope for when green meets blue.

Just for information, I've had a look and rain is forecast for Cardiff and Paris on Saturday (no doubt the roof will be shut in Cardiff) - but it's meant to be nice and sunny in Rome on Sunday.

Christ, I think we must be one of the least favoured semi-favourite sides in the history of 6N Wink

By the way that France v Ireland game is swinging, it'll be roughly half of you roughly equal on the top of the leader board and half of you roughly equal on the bottom. Anyway, with my approaching prediction, I'll either go straight to the top or be buried a mile down on the bottom Whistle

I think it's going to be a dramatic few days. I feel the competition is going to start with a bigger bang than most seem to be expecting.
