Basic Game Plan
In damp conditions we will be looking to utilise the boots of Burns, Fickou and Beale in our backline and play in the right areas of the field. When in or close to the Bath 22 we will look to play our fast paced offloading game where appropriate, whilst also going through the phases where the offload is not on.

In defence, as always we will be running a blitz defence. Our focus will be on the gainline collisions and driving back in the tackle. Line speed and no dog-legs will be key components for us. Hougaard will sweep in behind the defensive line to counter any chips/grubbers.

Specifics

Lineout - In damp conditions we will look to keep it safe up on our ball, utilising Armand, Bird, Manoa, and Jones as receivers, whilst also at times shortening the line and using our back row forwards as crash ball options off first phase. Defensively we will look to compete for the ball and disrupt wherever possible, making any ball secured by Bath as scrappy as we can.
Scrum - Hit channel one ball and get it to the back quickly, looking to maximise the space available with the opposition forwards packed down. On their ball, 8 man shove and look to drive them off as their hooker lifts his foot to hook the ball. Franks to stay tight and straight. Flanker on that side to stay bound and keep Franks square.
Breakdown - When we carry in, we will flood the breakdown rucking well past the ball to free it up quickly, so that Hougaard can feed the ball quickly to forwards, the first receiver, or snipe through a hole. In defence, if we have made a passive tackle and the carrier has momentum we will not over commit, but will maintain a strong defensive line. If we win the collision and knock the carrier back we will look to get the second man in hard over the ball to slow up momentum, or turn over possession. Key for us is being selective, and only committing men to a contestable ruck.
Attacking Play - We will be looking to play a fast offloading game, with the ball shifted on to the support runner just prior to the point of the tackle with the defender already committed. However this will only be implemented within the opposition half. We will also utilise the pick and go, meaning their defensive line cannot blitz efficiently. We will then we will look to exploit the delay in their blitz that results. We will then look to shift the direction of play and pull their defenders out of position to create gaps. Hougaard to also look to snipe around the fringes, to keep the defence honest and keep us going forwards all the time.
Tactical Kicking - If we kick, we will look to kick for the corners and contest the opposition lineout.

Both sides have very strong sides out and are clearly targeting the cup. Front 5s pretty even, think Bristol stronger in the back row with some good form. One a piece at halfback, Wuss have a great centre pair but the back 3s even. Home advantage wins this.

Worcester Warriors 32 - 28 Bristol Rugby
Cracking game from two of the up and coming sides in the league. Wuss take the pack with a little more quality and form against the Bristol side. This just gives them a better platform. Backlines pretty close.

Worcester Warriors 31 - 26 Bristol Rugby
More detail from the home side in the tactics, but a slightly stronger pack gives them more go forward in the backs.

Welsh sides always struggle against teams in our league, and this is no different. Too much power in the pack for Exeter, and outside of the halfbacks they're streets ahead of the Ospreys backline. Easy win

Exeter Chiefs 34 - 24 Ospreys
Ospreys put up a fight but Exeter too strong at home and come away with a good win.

Exeter Chiefs 32 - 16 Ospreys
More class over the whole pitch for the home side.

Exeter Chiefs 30 - 15 Ospreys
Exeter have an excellent pack despite the young (talented) front row and will bully Ospreys. The Welsh side have a top class halfback pairing and good young backrow but otherwise fall short and Exeter are at the least strong throughout

Exeter Chiefs 28 - 22 Ospreys
The Pack battle is easily won for Chiefs with Underhill not hitting form yet after injury lay off. Half backs for Ospreys may bring some spark but Chiefs have good control and Lopez can make something out of nothing here as well. Good win.

Exeter Chiefs 28 - 21 Ospreys
Chiefs will just have too much quality for a young Ospreys pack to deal with. This will allow the Chiefs halfbacks to dictate the game as they please. Davies will provide sparks and moments for the O's, but he Exeter bench will come on and put the cherry on top of a strong display.

Leicester Tigers 20 - 17 Bath Rugby
Leicester have the gnarly pack which is perfectly suited to their game plan, and very difficult to play against. Bath with the dashing backline, but in Leicester's favourite weather conditions this will be really tough. I fancy the big pack to trundle around the pitch racking up points, and Bath's flyers just not having quite enough

Leicester Tigers 26 - 23 Bath Rugby
Leicester shade the front 5 with a slightly stronger unit although may lose out a little in the scrum. Bath backrow lack a bit of carrying across the board and Tigers the better pack overall. CLose game on paper but lack of tactics ultimately costs.

Leicester Tigers 25 - 19 Bath Rugby
Bath struggle through lack of tactics and this gives the home side a more convincing win. bit hard to rate Jones at the moment due to length of his injury lay off.

Leicester Tigers 27 - 20 Bath Rugby
Tigers have an immediate advantage with tactics, Bath take a good advantage in the scrum but the rest of the pack goes Exeter's way, with a well balanced side. Barrett is class but I like the Tigers' HBs work well in tandem and will have a firm partnership by now. Two quality backlines cancel out

Leicester Tigers 25 - 20 Bath Rugby
Tactics really help Tigers here and we can see how they would play this game. Top experience in the front row for games like these and a good back row balance sways the pack battle towards Tigers. Bath's half backs could get them into it but can't see much getting through that Tigers centre combination. Home win here.
