Find this absolutely fascinating and am interested in more apps/programs available to the general public that can take scientific applications/research and responsive data to provide crucial solutions. If you have anything of a similar nature please add them here no matter how little or specialised

If I read that right (scan speed read) the Fracking Companies aren't going to be too pleased with the advances down that alley.

I suspect you read it right, although one would hope that there would be some sensible discussion of how the Richter Scale works and also what constitutes a 'proper' quake i.e. one that's likely to cause any damage. I'm sure everyone will think this is infallible tech re. fracking, but won't take any notice of any scientific evidence to support fracking. It simply must be bad.

The mini earthquakes wouldn't be my main concern - although obviously I don't know that until I'd be positioned in a place where mini earthquakes were happening due to fracking. No, my main concern would be the chemicals used getting into ground water and then on to animals and humans. This is I think the main problem people have with the industry - and it would certainly be my prominent concern.
There is enough chemicals in our water supply without adding more by a surprise back door. Plus, given that I think the exact chemicals in the fracking liquids are protected from disclosure by trade secret guidelines, that would highlight my concerns even more.

Fair point, but the anti-fracking brigade would be against it even if distilled water were the only thing in the fracking fluid. You can't have a rational conversation with them.SecretFly wrote:The mini earthquakes wouldn't be my main concern - although obviously I don't know that until I'd be positioned in a place where mini earthquakes were happening due to fracking.
