The problem is Iniesta has done pretty much nothing for Barca this season (Literally 1 goal & 1 assist) and various usual injuries as much as i love Iniesta he's on the decline now he's 31.

The problem I always found with Iniesta is that he splits opinion on where to put him in a formation and then loses value as a result, stick him AM and you get feedback he should CM, stick him CM and you get back he should be RM...

Coutinho is a fantastic AM, scares defenders, scores goals. Modric is a water carrier in the Deschamps mould, and does little more than act as a conduit for much better players to run around doing all the damage.

Modric: 127 PL games, 13 goals (823mins per goal), 21 assists
Coutinho: 102 PL games, 20 goals (388mins per goal), 24 assists

On that logic:
Rio Ferdinand - 503 PL games, 11 goals, 7 assists.

Also if we go by your usual logic Azzy, PL stats shouldn't matter. He simply wouldn't be at Real if he wasn't good enough and I think you know that. 

I remember you saying pick your form players and he is playing well at the moment so why not pick him. Also it's no secret what he can do on the ball and how good he is IMO.

Modric was older than Coutinho is now when he moved to Real. Give the kid a chance.

I will dispute until the day I die any assertions made attempting to prove that Modric is anything more than Robbie Savage with better hair. He wasn't the best midfielder in that Spurs side, and he's nowhere near being Real's best player either.

I wish people would stop fawning over him and his sideways passing, he'd be a great replacement for Busquets at Barca. Sit back, pass to the full-backs, take the pass back, play it to the other full-back...every player in that Real side has talent, but Modric isn't some second-coming of Michel Platini. He's the second coming of Robbie Savage.

And is he playing well at the moment? I'd say he's playing consistently, and doing alright. I certainly expect a lot more for the money he cost, the TM value he has and the team-mates he has at his disposal.

We can do this all day Miky, the only three footballers more polarizing in my football world are Zidane, Rio and GNev. Modric sits 4th on my all-time most hated players, ahead of Steve Bull, John Terry, Luis Suarez, Rudi Voller and Jurgen Klinsmann.

You must of changed your tune recently then as you were singing his praises when we were in the euro league a while back unless that was just a big wind up which I kind of hope it wasn't after I trusted you with asking for advice etc.

Of course Modric will have a higher TM value, he plays for Real. I didn't see much of him at Tottenham but whenever I have seen him play he's been consistently good and worth the money. I wasn't slating Coutinho at all I'm just merely defending Modric.

The advice I always give you Miky is from the perspective of the other managers - if you bought players to my taste, you'd finish bottom every season

I loathe Modric, everyone else faps themselves over him. He'll do well in every week's voting except for mine.

Next you'll be saying Busquets isn't a good player. Not that i like him but he's one of the best DMs in the world.

He'd probably crack my top 10. He's made to look better by his team-mates. And his dad's reputation at the club was the only reason he stayed so long.
