Favourite Sci Fi series
Mine has to be Stargate. The first couple of seasons were epic and although it did fizzle out in season 8, I still enjoyed It. The spinoff Atlantis was good aswell. I'm sure The X Files is up there on everyone else's list but I personally never really got into it. Way too dark for my liking.

I really enjoyed Farscape from start to finish.
other notable ones I enjoy are Continuum and Quantum Leap. Also enjoyed Sliders from a few years ago, anyone remember else it?

I remember Sliders. It's similar to Stargate. Quantum Leap was also entertaining. I don't think I ever got around to finishing them tbh.

Has to be stargate for me aswell. Loved SG1 and Atlantis. Universe was fine, and I understand they tried to move away from the old format with it and focus more on character development, but don't think it worked out. The lack of that central 'bad guy' race didn't help, although some of the episodes were fantastic none the less.

Red Dwarf was and always will be fantastic.
SG-1 was brilliant until the last few seasons (I still haven't watched seasons 9 and 10) and when I was younger loved Sliders, unfortunately watched it again last year and it's a bit of a mess.

Yeah Red Dwarf is up there for me, always been a huge fan
If it was just a one off series and they hadn't gone on to destroy it I would have put Heroes up here as well, that first season was absolutely brilliant

No, that would be N.E.R.D. (which I believe had Pharell Williams in it - phuck knows who you spell his name. I don't care enough to check)
"NERDS!!!" is me shouting the word "nerds" to the sci-fi nerds.

The video used to get played on Kerrang and/or ScuzzTV a lot and it featured scantily clad women so that's my excuse for knowing itrick_dagless wrote:Ah, though you have lost METAL points on knowing who the phuck Farrell (or whatever) Williams used to sing with.

I forgot about that, used to watch it all the time on video, thought when they remade it then we'd finally get a chance to see what happened with the bomb but alas it was not to be.

Re: Favourite Sci Fi series
For shear original audacity and the quirkiest bunch of weirdo aliens ever, the title has to go to Farscape.
A moaning, groaning, often childish and petulant Buck Rodgers like hero, Crichton - or anti-hero if you tired of his constant whining delivery!
Then the softie Living Spaceship, that always seemed to be in a spot of bother and enjoying people feeling sorry for her. Then the little bastard of a ratty vicious, double-crossing, bad tempered hoor, Rygel.
But even though I didn't like many of the characters totally - and I don't think many of them were meant to be fully likeable - they all had their selfish failings - for originality from design to music to a very particular sense of comic - and for the smokey voiced beaut, Aeryn Sun, who I did like very much - I missed the madness when it ended.

Re: Favourite Sci Fi series
Firefly was certainly one of my favourites, disappointed that it didn't get a renewal but Serenity wrapped it up nicely I thought. Red Dwarf is up there as well, grew up watching that show and have been lucky enough to meet the cast at comic con.

Currently watching Orphan Black. Brilliant series, great premise, fantastic acting by Tatiana Maslany in the lead role(s).
