Seen as the ongoing thread has reached over 1000 comments, I thought i would set up a new thread to take us through the NFL playoffs.

Bizarre year in the NFC South, you have Atlanta at 24, which is around the correct place for them.  Yet they were in a win and your in situation in week 17.   Panthers win that match and go to the playoffs. Although had they lost, I read somewhere they would have had a top 10 pick!!!!

Highlighted by the fact that the Buccaneers were still in with a chance of the playoffs with around 5-6 weeks to go and yet finished the season with the number 1 draft pick.

Interestingly, in terms of their opponents combined record throughout the season the Cowboys had the 'easiest schedule' and the Raiders the toughest. The Broncos, Seahawks, Cardinals and Patriots all came in the top 10 in terms of toughest runs while the Cowboys, Steelers, Lions and Colts all in the top 10 of easiest games.

To be honest, I don't really like any of the playoff teams that much. If I had to choose I would like to see the Cardinals come through from the NFC and possibly the Steelers, maybe the Bengals, make it from the AFC.

Wouldn't mind the Patriots and Brady winning another Super Bowl in terms of legacy and the same goes for the Seahawks winning back-to-back championships. Definitely don't want the Cowboys or Broncos anywhere near Arizona come the 1st February.

The Lions vs Bengals in the Super Bowl would be a nice match-up in terms of 'lions vs tigers'.

For an alternative take on rankings, Nate Silver (statistics guy) has been doing an elo-rating that currently looks like this:

I've gone for the Cowboys here. They've got momentum although going through Seattle will take some doing. Still, if anyone is gonna do it then you might as well back the team that went 8-0 on the road this season.

That said, I'll be surprised if that defense of theirs holds up well enough to allow them to get to the show in Arizona.

Dallas are seventh in total yards this season and fifth in points per game while Detroit have given up the second fewest yards (least rushing yards) and third fewest points per game. Should be an interesting match-up based on offence vs defence.

Anyone doing the NFL Playoff Challenge?

I've only got 19pts last round, but all my players are now at x2 for this w/e (Wilson, Lynch, Murray, Dez, Cobb, Gronk, Gost, Sea D)

Slightly off topic, but St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke has indicated he is going to build an 80,000 seater stadium in Inglewood, CA and wants to move his franchise there. Obviously San Diego aren't amused.

Accord to Jerry Jones(Dallas Cowboys owner) Kroenke doesn't even need to win the vote to move.

What's your opinions on this?

(this might be better in the general thread)

LA needs to have a team, and the 32 team set-up is too neat to add extra teams imho

So Rams relocate to LA, and Jaguars to either London (hope not) or somewhere else stateside

If it makes the Rams half relevant then do it.
