British GOAT thread?

After our moderately successful GOAT series a year or so ago (well, other than the thread hijack by some Michael Jordan-obsessed numpty), could we run something similar to decide the best British sportsperson of all time?

Perhaps, to avoid one or two slightly questionable selections, the nominees could be put forward by each respective board, including a case for them being the best ever. One nomination per board other than in sports like tennis and athletics where women compete on a similarly high profile level

Obviously we would need a few additional nominations to cover minority sports + athletics (absent a re-instated dedicated board...).

Any thoughts?
