Poor Tom Burgess must be feeling left out...

Last night I was watching the test between Great Britain and Samoa, and the obvious question is, Why would rugby union look to British Rugby League forwards to be future outside backs in Rugby Union, when Rugby League has some perfectly ready made up centres and wings already?

Or are British Rugby union people totally unaware of whats going on in Rugby League?

I always thought that if they were going to try and lure any of the Burgesses across it should be the younger ones George and Tom. They are both still really young and would physically speaking make excellent second/back-rowers.

I sometimes think about the pack Yorkshire could put out if they could keep all of the players in the North. I imagine a pack that contained any of the Burgesses' and the likes of Rob Webber, Phil Swainston, Dom Barrow, James Craig, Calum Clarke and Jacob Rowan. They'd be seriously competitive IMO.

the jury is out what position Sam Burgess will play. technicalities of breakdown play favour his having a bigger, earlier, less infringement-strewn impact in open field.

Personally Cumbrian, I believe that George will in time be a better Rugby League player than Sam.
