No, but I have been to the International Centre in Brentwood.

Brentwood and Braintree are only 23.6 miles apart according to AA routefinder.

Depends on the venue. There are some very nice patches of lawn out here as you know. The more prestigious the location the better the remuneration I'd guess.

Mate's club in Brisbane need a groundsman/curator. Can't leave yet though. I'd probably get fried up there as well.

A mate of mine from Glaws managed to get some job at Collingwood football club in Melbourne. Don't know how he did it but it's probably not on the curator side of things... more logistics and running around the venues during the season. Don't know what he does in the off-season though. It seemed like a radical career change for me. Previously he was in the Army (in Kenya or somewhere), then became some sort of very successful vehicle? salesman back home. After the Lions Tour he vowed he would come back here to live permanently. I thought he was just being polite to me.

Back to soup and a sandwich again today. Though the sandwich had some dead cow on it, and the soup which was a miso based chinese noodle and sweetcorn soup, was a marked improvement on yesterdays sprout, bacon and chilli soup.

I've got 8 cans of strongbow and a bottle of vermouth for this evening. Don't necessarily have to drink it all but I it keeps me entertained whilst doing some power sanding in the new bedroom. Had Heinz tomato soup and a roll with two packets of twiglets which will hopefully provide the stodge prior to dinner.

Bought it for a Rick Stein Wild Boar recipe I did a month or so ago. Took a shine to it. I won't really drink that or 8 cans. Trying to be better during the week.

Watched the last recorded Walking Dead I had last night so will catch up with last night's episode tonight unless the football is good or I find my DVD or I choose to watch that 'The Passing Bells'. Can't be any good if it is on at 7pm?

He went off round Cambodia or somewhere like that last Christmas and hasn't been heard from since.

I'm back from Houston so everyone who was frantic with worry at my absence can now relax and revel in the knowledge that I'm safe and sound. A bit annoyed that my profile was set to Port Moresby time when I live approximately 25 seconds walk from the Greenwich Meridean, the finest of the merideans.

Would love to stay and answer the onslaught of questions about my trip but I'm off to fetch the ungrateful little sh1t of a cat, who will no doubt spend the afternoon hiding under a bed or up a tree. Houston was very good and is highly recommended, though you need to have a car as it doesn't have a Docklands Light Railway. I did miss Tino quite a lot though. *

I went to a Halloween party when I was there. Galtova vetoed all the costumes I wanted to buy as they were apparently too "scary for kids" even though it was a party for adults so I was forced to find things around the house and go as Alex from A Clockwork Orange. The approximately 6 people who recognised who I was dressed as agreed with me that my costume was by far the best Halloween costume they'd ever seen and quite a few people took photos of me. I reckon I could have shagged Morticia Adams and the fat Pocahontas but Galtova spent the evening circling jealously.

I also saw a dead deer on Sunday and again on Monday.
