Mad Max reboot Empty Mad Max reboot

There has been talk of the Mad Max reboot, known as Fury Road, for a number of years. It's finally been produced but isn't realised until May 2015, which I find odd. It hasn't stirred much talk on here, so here is the trailer if any of you have not seen it: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1392190/?ref_=nv_sr_2

Reboots are usually bad, however the original director is calling the shots so that is a good sign. Also, if you're a fan of the old franchise then you might like this one because going by the trailer this one has a lot of elements of 2 and 3. The downside here is trailers can be very deceiving. Also, there's kids in the film, and that was one of the main reasons why 3 wasn't so successful. Besides that you have all the original action and the real stunt scenes, supplemented by a return of the interceptor, totalled in number 2 and totalled in Fury Road by the looks of it?

I hate reboots.

They should have set it some time in the future with the original Mad Max an old man who's son takes over like a Mad Max jnr type of thing.

im with onetwo, dont like reboots. something like godzilla with the technical advancements i can understand. but there making reboot of films that dont need remaking. nothing wrong with robocop, total recall etc in the first place. and the old ones are still much better than the remake

I agree. But I think the plan is that this carries on from the old 3, with the original director, so maybe it won't be so bad. I thought Indiana Jones was okay, not Prometheus though...

I don't see how it's that different to the original ones. People operate in strange ways sometimes.

i was a child for the first ones so i could handle bit of the more dafter sides, but watching him survive a nuclear blast in a fridge and then loads of aliens start knocking about as a adult i thought it was appallingly bad. perhaps if i hadnt seen the originals i may not have liked the jesus cup and the nazis bit, but the originals still had much more going for them than the latest effort

Going by the trailer though, would you say Fury Road looks good?

If, as Saint says, it carries on from number three, my biggest gripe is that I'd have to sit through "Beyond Thunderdome" to reacquaint myself with the story and I think that's just too much to bear.

Seen the trailer and it looks more like mad max 2 then the first . I don't mind reboots if they good entertaining films but with every brilliant star trek reboot you do often get a wicker man

Yeah that's the most recent one I take it, there have been 3 trailers now. It looks good.
