Balotelli was definitely right to take the penalty. I rate Henderson, but I know which out of the two I want taking a pressure penalty in the 84th minute.

Im assuming that Henderson was down as Penalty taken as Mario was benched. So i expect that changed when Mario came on...

That would of solved a lot of hassle if Gerrard said that to the media...

if you'd never seen liverpool before, judging from these posts, you'd think Mario is on a par with Messi & Henderson is at best, a league two player. never seen such fickleness. amazing how a couple of goals can change people's views on a player. you will disagree, but i see it similar to the fellaini at united situation, not in terms of disruptiveness, but in terms of him suddenly scoring & people changing their minds, when in fact you actually need mario/maroune to do worse, so they get out of those clubs & the teams can go forward. liverpool need mario removed for the good of the club & it's squad dynamic & united need rid of fellaini to change the style & progress away from this horrible football.

Not really a very relevant comment, the overall ability of a player doesn't make him a better penalty taker. Balotelli is statistically a better penalty taker than Messi for instance so the comparison falls apart completely.


Again you bring up Man United for no reason, Fellaini if utilised right as LVG is doing can be a useful and alternative option off the bench, if going long to the big man wins games then why not do it.

Yes I think Fellani should be that impact , plan b player- but I also think they need to try and play football first- Man U style.

Man U were loved by so many because of the way they played- I even had a lot of respect for them . Without a quality way of playing that respect is diminishing.

You'll not get a better chance to get a result. Problem, Barca's blip and Newcastle's capitulation at the weekend tend to make it look like City are the form team so people are getting very excited. Looking forward to the game, even though I'm still F*CKING WORKING.

I hope City do well tonight though (they might go out and get sh!tfaced so badly afterwards that they're still hungover for the trip to Anfield on Sunday)

Man City have got to move the ball forward quicker and take advantage of the space in behind the Barcelona defence. It's no good trying to play passing football against them. I'm a bit surprised Jesus Navas didn't start. I would have 433/ 451 played Silva, Aguero, Navas up front, and put an extra body in midfield rather than Dzeko.

Barcelona are just loving Man City passing the ball in front of them. City need to break with pace and try and get in behind the Barcelona defence. You are not going to out pass them.

Take Dzeko and Nasri off, put Navas and Fernandinho on. Mourinho would have made the changes by now.

Both were unnecessary though. The first one, Rakitic takes a desperate heavy touch, and has nowhere to go. At the very least, the ball goes for a City throw, at worst - Rakitic is isolated down a flank. Still dangerous of course, but when you draw up a list of players you don't want hairing down a flank, Rakitic doesn't come to mind. Second one again, Alves isn't really going anywhere.
