I presume you take on the roles of wrestlers etc? I saw Y2J was mentioned so do you pretend to be guys like him?

We make our own characters. There will be traits of existing wrestlers but they are original ideas.

Not everyone's cup of tea but it is great if you enjoy creative writing.

Do you pick who you're fighting by challenging them then?

Me and Paul Mac are the bookers and basically we run the shows. Everyone has a character (or 40 if your Chris or Marky) and you write "promos" as those characters in the run up to the next show.

We have a show every ten days and during the time between shows you will write "promos" against your opponents for upcoming matches. Basically like they do in WWE...come out to the ring and talk trash or give backstage interviews etc.

We then write up the show for everyone to read and develop the stories from there.

Love the QOTD, I think the key thing in regards to a character is being able to feel comfortable writing as them, a great character can be ruined if you aren't able to almost adopt your character's psyche and write as them and not for them as it were.

I think allowing the character to grow is another key part of it, if you see something that doesn't work then change it and freshen stuff up, I think we can all agree that we've tried or suggested awful ideas at one point...my midget wrestler that Paul vito'd being mine.

What was the midgets name?

I'm not that hot on wrestling move names if that's okay? I've got an idea of a character though so could someone help me flesh out some appropriate moves to go with them?

My worst character or characters I should say, was a chinesse tag team called the brothers orient, one was called tony yin but he liked to be known as mantis the other jimmy yang he liked to be called ox, neither could speak English, so I created them a manager just simply called the boss. I think I only promoed with then once or twice and then thankfully the fed they were in closed, so I didn't have to continue.

I had Patient X in 6CW - Originally in a mental asylum after brutally murdering his parents as a child - Created on a whim and left behind just as quickly

I remenber that character it was pretty deep, what was the name of the asylum something like cherry falls, have you not brought him back a few times?

Talking about this has got me looking at the old site, there are character names on there I never knew existed, I don't remenber them being on any show

Yeah something like the cherry falls asylum - I didn't really think past the first promo

Regards to QOTD I think there's two things that go to a good character. I think that you can create the interest through a good backstory or a mysterious background it will stand out, but ultimately I think what can set characters apart from others are promos and storylines

I think we have a solid group of talent here when it comes to promoing, I will admit there are some that for me do stand out and I use these to try and increase my game week on week.

However I do believe that even if you're not the best at promoing a good storyline can set you apart, obviously a good storylne will also bring better promos so I think the two go hand in hand

Doing okay Gazzy, been in Amsterdam with work for the last two weeks. Once you have done the usual tourist things, this place gets ridiculously boring. Been stuck in my hotel the last couple of evenings. Least I have the Champions League (with Dutch commentary   ) to keep me occupied!

I haven't heard anything that's really excited me in music for a while, the last few things were Letlive and Oh, Sleeper.

What type of metal are you into Viper? Never jumped on the Letlive bandwagon, they have a few exceptional track but just didn't quite get into them.

Devil You Know is Howard Jones new band, they are Killswitch but just more thrashy. I personally love it, but metal is so difficult to please

I have no idea about metal tbh, I try to stay away from genres as it just leads to people shouting at me for labelling something wrong. I honestly listen to anything though...this week alone I've been listening to:

Dead and Divine (Southern infused thrashy metal)
Broods (Electro in the vein of XX)
Emarosa (Emo/Rock)
Winds Of Plague (Deathcore/Black Metal)
The Number Twelve Looks Like You (Mathcore)

My character is quite odd I think, I hope he comes across alright when I start.

we have Edward Plague (one of my guys) who is a psycho with a god complex who speaks in riddles and also we have Joshua (Twisty's guy) who is sadistic and hell bent on hurting people and slightly controlled by this puppet he carries around with him.

I think odd is a good thing as it'll help him stand out, I look forward to seeing what happens with him.

I don't think Dolph likes to discuss his personal life Kurt.

I think back story is overrated in e-fedding, generally it is very rarely used and within the context of storylines can actually end up being frustrating for the opponent because somebody might focus heavily on back story instead of the actual feud. I think it should always be background. I think the most important part will always be the promos and how well somebody can react to storylines. Even poorly conceived characters can end up working well purely based on the promos developing and getting better to the extent that the initial character is kind of forgotten behind the promos. 

I have had a few poorly thought out characters, I believe I once proposed a Val Venis esque character.

I think it depends on how the backstory is used, with the Thunder/Wood feud we used our real life friendship as a backstory and it built well in to the storyline and has further pushed the Costello/Wood feud by having Costello take out Wood's best friend.

I originally was going to call my character Bam Bam Gigolo so nearly went down the Val Venis route.
