In very wet conditions we will play to our strengths and play a game built around our intelligent HB's controlling the game and the power and strength of our side.

- Attack at all scrums with our huge pack - Cole and Sheridan to look to really get into the opposition. Lots of scrums in wet weather and an area we will look to target if winning.

- Attack at all lineouts. Use Hines at the front and Myall off the top as our two key options.
Shortened lineouts with Burger in midfield as crash or decoy option.

- Put serious pressure on BdP's throws with Hines at the front on all Wasps throws.

- Gigantic pack made up of massive line-breakers, used in the tight to tire down the Wasps defence. The likes of SOB, Burger, Hines, Moore and Scaysbrook to be used to target the Wasps 10 channel.

- Target the breakdown - huge emphasis on our work at the breakdown today and we will always look to turnover possession. With Burger, Scaysbrook and SOB, and the likes of Cole and BOD, we feel our breakdown play could be crucial today.

- No overly ambitious passing - In wet conditions we will either look to kick to gain territory or look to keep ball in hand and take it through the middle.

- In heavy rain we will target Lopez all game with Burger and SOB breathing down his neck at every opportunity. Big runners through his channel - looking to win the Wilko vs Lopez contest.

- We will look to employ a blitz defence, focusing on a quick line speed to hit the ball carrier before he gets to the gainline. We have aggressive forwards to carry out this instruction. Fotuali to sweep behind with an eye on short kicks.

- Wilkinson to kick all penalites.

Tactics

In wet conditions we will 100% be playing for territory and looking to play in the Tigers 22.  We will essentially play 10 man rugby carrying close to the rucks, with the support player looking to clear the tackler at ruck to enable the next man in over the ball, as opposed to being their for the offload.  From attacking lineouts we will throw safe and look to use the driving maul to good effect.  We will only go wide in the opposition 22 and when it is complete on to do so and gaps have appeared.

In defence we will blitz with Smith sweeping behind the line.  We will look to hit man and ball in the tackle and either dislodge the ball forcing a knock on, or hold the ball carrier up and wrap the ball up to effect the turnover with it not coming out of the maul.

- Target the scrum. Good technical front row supported by plenty of grunt will look to get on top and win penalties. 

- Attack from the lineout. Five genuine jumping options allows us to mix it up and really use the lineout as an attacking platform. Look to get the ball to Sexton and Eastmond with space outside. 

- Target the opposition lineout with Retalick jumping at the front and Attwood & POM marshalling the middle. We will look to make the lineout as scrappy as possible with neither opposition lock known for their lineout prowess.

- Look to mix up play. Sexton & Eastmond to interchange at first receiver and change the point of attack. Care provides a threat snipping around the base.

- Get the back three involved. Eastmond, Gilroy and Bendy all to run lines looking for the inside ball or offload to get in behind the opposition defence.

Fairly comfortable win for Glaws with a smattering of world class players in the side.


 
Cardiff Blues 15-26 Northampton Saints
Saints gone big with this one and have the pack power to win comfortable enough in these conditions.


 
Leicester Tigers 16-13 London Wasps
 
Scrum: Big battle here and neither front 5 edges.
Lineout: Again no real edge here.
Breakdown: Both sides with good technicians here but feel the Tigers backrow can edge this battle.
HB's: 1 a piece but as a combo Tigers stronger. Personally haven’t seen anything of Lopez in such wetness.
Attack: Both full of strong tight carriers needed for the conditions and game plans. Both Tigers centres on the decline however.
Defence: Questions over Poitrenaud positionally as well as the Wasps back three.
Bench: Can see Tigers front 5 putting the squeeze on.
Tactics: Game plans are identical really although more detail to Tigers. Tigers halfbacks should get the better of the kicking battle for me and see their pack squeezing Wasps out of it late on.


 
Scarlets 19-24 Newcastle Falcons
Not sure on Brown at 7 and Falcons won’t have the breakdown advantage they could have had here as such Slade at 10 won’t get the very best out of this backline.


 
Harlequins 21-17 Ulster

Great game here with the sides very even overall for me and home advantage swings it for Quins.

Brown keeps Barclay out of the jocks side at 7......

Glos backrow will have a field day and an easy win for them here.

Blues 12-28Saints
Saints will take the game in the pack, bit difficult to rate Tuilagi at the moment as he's been out a while.

Tigers 21-20 Wasps
SP: Tough to split two good front 5's.
BK: Prefer the look of Tigers back row but Wasps aren't shirkers here.
HB: Fotuali'i not firing at the moment but Smith looked good during ai's. Going to say 9 to Wasps but 10 to Tigers.
AT: Wasps are very exciting here and will score tries but Tigers have the international experience and cool heads to weather the storm.
BE: Forwards to Tigers, backs to Wasps.
TA: Wasps set out well for wet weather and tactics suit this. Tigers come with similar tactics and feel they can just edge this at home with a little more experience to see it out.

Scarlets 14-26 Falcons
Falcons will get some joy in the set piece, feel that they will get an advantage in the backs with only Willams in the centre causing them problems.

Quins 25-21 Ulster
Great game which will hinge on the bench here and feel that Franks, Du Toit, Warburton and Laidlaw will see Quins home.

Perpignan 15-22 Sale
Swainston may get shown up here but Rettalick will hold him firm. Sale are too strong in the half backs and outside backs and will take a good win from France

Gloucester 29 - 19 Castres

Castres haven't quite been the side in form recently. They make hard work in the forwards for Glaws, but like a typical french side playing away they struggle from the intense pressure from this Gloucester side. Glaws have too much in the backs and secure a big home win.

Cardiff Blues 20 - 32 Northampton Saints

Cardiff have the players to make this game difficult, especially on their pitch. But Saints have too much throughout their side and march through with a big away win to help them in this group.


Leicester Tigers 25 - 24 London Wasps

Real tough game. Tigers at home are a real threat to any side, but Wasps have some real fire in the game and get amongst the Tigers. Hard to split this one as it will be really tense, with both sides trying to force an error out of the other. I think at the end of it, the constant ticking over of Wilkinson's boot seals the narrowest of home wins. 

Scarlets 18 - 30 Newcastle Falcons


Falcons have too much in their front five for Scarlets to gain any real foothold in the game. Scarlets will make it tough for Falcons, but there is also just too much of a clinical ability out wide and even away from home - the Falcons make this look easy.

Harlequins 31 - 29 Ulster

What a cracking game this would be! Ulster bring a real fight into this game, and I feel that the Quins quick gameplan helps the way Ulster want to play. Pienaar will keep this close, but Cooper and the home advantage just sneak Quins home.

Perpignan 15 - 24 Sale Sharks


Perpignan aren't the force they once were. At home however a stereotypical french side will make this a real attrional battle. Too much physical up front from Sharks however proves a solid base and sets the Salford side on their way.
