Questions for Reggie Johnson. Empty Questions for Reggie Johnson.

Post by hampo17 Wed 27 Nov 2013, 10:26 pm

On next weeks V2 Boxing Podcast, we will be joined by former world champion Reggie Johnson.

Reggie is planning on making a comeback in the new year, and I'm sure he will have some stories from his career so far.

Post any questions you have here and I'll do my best to ask them.

You found yourself on the wrong end of a few close decisions in world title fights, which was the hardest to accept?

Who was the best fighter you ever faced not named Roy Jones Jnr?

You jumped straight from middleweight to light heavyweight, did you not consider fighting at super middleweight?

Ask him If he was robbed against Castro.........

Ask him which achievement the light heavyweight title or the middleweight one he is most proud of.....

Ask him how he thinks Martinez and GGG would cope with Jones jr..Toney....and himself.......

Ask him whether Manny or FMJ is the best............

Ask him If pushing Tarver so close was his best performance considering he was on the slide...

Ask him with big fights like Benn at 168 why he missed the division out and went to 175...

Ask him If he has any regrets.......(Apart from coming on 606)

Ask him if Louis at 6 and no Mayweather sucks !!Cool

Ask him If everything is okay in retirement and unlike most boxers If he's comfortable for the future...

Good old reggie a blast from the past........

Read an interview with reggie a few years back, seems like a good honest guy, he was certainly a very good fighter who mixed it with the best...

Do you feel you let toney off the hook in round 2 of your fight? Does the fact you hit him so easily suggest he's not the defensive genius chris believes him to be?!

Do you fell that if you'd been the home/house fighter more often, a few more of those close decisions would have gone your way?

Some of your close fights on the cards. Fair or not fair?
Castro 1
Castro 2
Jackson
Toney
Collins
Tarver

You had a good tussle with Steve Collins, were you ever close to a fight with benn or Eubank?

Although there are example of guys your age turning back the clock, they are the exception not the norm. Are you worried at all about your health

The only guy to score a genuine Knock down of James Toney as far as I remember.

Try to keep the questions coming lads. The most successful fighter we've had on the podcast so far, is Reggie. He's a character, too; have heard one or two other interviews he's given since he announced his comeback and he seems in good form, at least verbally!

Have never been able to find the second Castro fight, but it's been said that Reggie considered packing it all in afterwards due to what he perceived as a "political loss." I've seen the first one, though, and I think he got jobbed there, no doubt. Watching the fight unfold, there did seem to be a bit of home town cooking going on (like Castro's corner actually being allowed to try and pump up the crowd and bellow instructions to Jorge while standing on the ring apron during the rounds!). Will be very interesting to hear exactly what he feels about those defeats.

Ask him why on earth he is putting his health at risk at the age of 47, utter madness.

What are your goals? Can you make 175? And is Hopkins responsible for this madness? Ok, maybe let Owen ask him that one.

Is a Hopkins fight a possibility? Do you think the Collins v RRJ fight will happen, and do you want the winner?

Were you a dedicated pro? Or did you enjoy the trappings of a celebrity athlete? Any stories? Any regrets?

I'm guessing he's broke since coming out of jail a couple of years ago.

Jones scored a knockdown over Toney, but it was more Toney losing his balance than a hurtful punch, same with Sam Peter. Reggie Johnson is the only guy I remember putting Toney down properly with a heavy shot.

Does anyone else have any questions for Reggie?

We also want you guys to feature on the weekly podcast. A chance to join us to ask your questions and get your points heard by our listeners. Would anyone be interested in doing that?
