SAF getting conduct charges again from the F.A. ... For saying that the ref is the best.

Well, strictly not. What he said contravenes the rule which now states no manager should speak about a referee in advance of the match being played.

It was hardly a rant at the referee however - he seemed to be complimenting him!

But rules is rules....

I also just realized that this happened 8/9 days ago...

Whats taken them so long.

Does it take that long for them to reach a decision ??

They've done it because he's Sir Alex Ferguson. Again.

Sir Alex Ferguson should just simply learn to keep his mouth shut when it comes to talking about referees.

What's the point in Sir Alex talking at all to the media, if the FA slap him with ridiculous conduct charges all the time no matter what is said.

i thought we had freedom of speech in this country, apparently not, the FA are making it too obvious that it has become a personal witch hunt against SAF

If he didn't talk about referees then they wouldn't be able to have a go at him for talking about referees, it's a pretty simple solution to the issue.

The issue is more with the fact that he is the FA's sole target these days. Ancelotti too spoke about Howard Webb prior to the match: where is his charge?

Bernstien simply was never going to be and clearly isn't fit to rule. But then he's only making it worse for himself. For every farcical and inconsistent charge given, Fergie just reinforces the mentality that it's 'us vs the rest' that has charged United for ages.

Have the FA said they won't charge Ancelotti? Yes it's a ridiculous charge but he's had enough warnings.

If the FA doesn't want managers to comment on refs before games they should only announce who the ref will be on the day of the game. He complimented the ref absolutely disgusting from the FA.
