DJ Union Cane : Happy Hardcore Mix

This may well be considered a desperate attempt to recapture the glory of lost and wasted youth, but I am so delighted with the result I thought I would share it with you all.

I recently downloaded some Virtual DJ software, to see how it compared with the old fashioned "two decks & a mixer" that I had in my bedroom as a young chap in the 90's. It turns out that it wouldn't play vinyl, so I set about searching Youtube for all my old favourite tracks, and found that they could be downloaded into MP3 format and then played using the DJ software. Not only that, but the "you may also like" sidebar sent me off on a journey of reminiscence the likes of which I have never experienced before. The memories came flooding back, and the tunes of my youth began to pile up in my 'to download' list. Anyway, about six hundred downloads later here I am, ready to share my talents with the world.
 
Well, perhaps not the world, but certainly with 606v2.

Well, probably just myself then.
 
My first effort is a 15 minute Happy Hardcore mix, some of my favourite tracks here but please bear in mind that I haven't been using the software very long and there is no monitor so I am bringing the second track in blind (deaf?) every time.
 
I've just spent a morning working out how to do Youtube and I think I've cracked it, so have a listen to this and tell me what you think.
 

Lovely stuff Union.

I can't access the music here at work and it is a near certainty that I won't bother to listen at home but its always nice to see someone with a passion.

I also cannot access this at work but unlike Tina I cannot wait to hear it, anything that provides an insight into the enigma that is Union is always welcome with me.

Not bad union. Not good either but not bad for a first effort.

Hard though this will be for many of you to believe I used to go to hardcore clubs in my youth. Was a regular for the Amnesia nights in Shelly’s at Stoke. Mention of Slipmatt reminds me I was there the night he premiered On a Ragga Tip.

Is Stu Allen still going Union? Used to be a regular at the BYO in Donny. He must be getting on a bit now.

I'm more on old punk really even though i am at the right age for this. The 9 year old was bopping to it though. Good effort Union. I'll look out for future installments.

I use to 'DJ (in me bedroom)' back in the day, around 10 years ago now. When me mum told me to take the rest of my stuff out of the house when I moved, I found a few mix CDs I done back in the day. Ill have to see if a can fish them out again. Some classics on there! Wasn't really in to happy hardcore though.

I did try a Hard Trance mix at the weekend, but I got about 45 minutes in and screwed it up, then I tried an early 90s hardcore mix that was going great until the battery on my laptop died. I think I've worked out how to exceed the 15 minutes so I want to put some decent mixes out there, no more like that silly jungle one that I did.

What sort of stuff were you playing SoF?
