Still hurt from the play offs. Team morale will be low after Gus leaving. Can't see us attracting better play offs. Oscar will be the next Stale Solbacken.

Sad news Charlie Oatway has left the club today. Charlie has been here since 1999. Probably one of the funniest and scariest players ever to play for the club and coach at the club.

Saw him play in my first Brighton match back in 2001. I remember whenever he got tackled or fouled, the crowd would chant "Charlies gunna get ya" because he always would get the ball back whilst hurting the player at the same time  A tough tackling Center Mid to say the least

Had to retire from football in 2006 due to a serious injury, helped out a lot in Albion in the Community Program and has always been a key part of that superb scheme. Then got into coaching and has been a key part of Gus Poyet coaching backup. 

All the best to Charlie, hopefully he remains part of Gus's coaching and he can land a decent job soon.

Adam El-Abd has signed a new 2 year deal

Good news, been playing with the club since he was 10. A true legend to say the least and always love a big tackle. 

Hopefully we can still sign a new center back, ideally Matt Upson would be perfect. Greer, El-Abd and Dunk isn't enough IMO.

Matt Upson signs a one year deal  

Fantastic signing. Was part of the best defense in the Championship last season, he really helped the play off push when he joined on loan last season from Stoke. Bristol City away was my particular favorite game of his.

Guess the defense now will be

Bruno Greer Upson Shorey - If we offer him a deal

With Calderon El-Abd Dunk and Maksimenko

Luckily for him he has signed a one year deal, as we will be in league one next season.

Nicky Shorey trial has finished and will not be joining the lads for pre season in Spain. Shame really, not really sure who will we get in now tbh, poor by the club. Sounds like Shorey is going to Millwall.

Also David Lopez is probably leaving, sounds like he wants an offer, we can't offered. We should, offer him what he wants though IMO, class player at this level. But i always trust the club on wages, mind you the last class player we lost by not offering a higher deal was Glenn Murray

Beat Getafe 1-0 tonight thanks to a goal from Andrea Orlandi. 

Sounds like Getafe rested some lads tonight though. 

Hopefully we can snap up a couple of Spanish midfielders soon. Or hopefully we can sign some 40 year old cloggers.

Yeah when we signed him i didn't think we would be that good.

But he was class last season, could do a job on the wing, he tore Tripper apart at the AMEX and he is one of the best full backs in the league and he is a great little creative player in the middle, chipped in with a fair amount of goals as well, but did miss a lot of  sitters. 

Has a great haircut as well!

I signed Orlandi from Brighton for my Crawley side on FIFA 13, was pretty awesome on there. But then loads of players quality on Fifa are often gash in real life!

Nathan Jones - Former player, used to love him when he played for us, but he acted like a di*k in a game against Yeovil in 2008 when he got one of our players sent off.

Crawley v Brighton this Wednesday. AKA the A23 Derby. AKA No-one cares.

I'm busy working, not going to bother trying to change shifts (I only do that for real games, not friendlies) but I still want us to play well and win. I will still give you stick if we win, and expect some back if we don't.

Another Swansea Reject, but if he is as good as Andrea Orlandi i am happy! However if he is on Ryan Harley and Stephen Dobbie Standard, i will be banging my head against a wall.

Off to the Amex tonight against Villareall, should be good, mind you a storm is brewing around Sussex!

Lost 3-1 against Villareal

For £12 i had a really good time. Villareal looked a class team, and as Garcia rightfully said after the game we won't play a side like Villareal in the Championship. 

First half we looked class, Barnes, Ulloa and Buckley looked a real threat as attacking 3 and Orlandi playing just behind. I think were 3-4 players light though, but get some signings in and we will be fine

Final pre season match on Tuesday against Norwich, not paying £12 for that. Then its the real business on Saturday, away at Leeds, where i recon we will lose 1-0.

Also word on Villareal fans, superb, enjoyed the banter. They seemed to really enjoy there evening which was good to see.

Naaa not going mate, only went on Saturday because it was Oscar first game and i fancied it. Don't really enjoy going friendly's tbh as i find it a waste of money!

Luckily its only pre season and i couldn't care less if we get tonked 5-0 but Orlandi just missed an open goal by tripping over himself apparently. If he did that in an actual match i would be having a swearing fit.
