Money talks.
I wouldn't mind it being the Italy or Scotland game - but England and France on a Friday just doesn't sit right.
Hope the money they get actually starts to benefit the Welsh game
When is the stadium debt due to be paid off?
606,
As much as I don't like them I think the French game won't be to bad as only one set of fans will be trying to get out of the Capital at stupid o'clock.
The England game is just plain crazy as a lot of English fans travel in for day so there will be two lots of fans trying to get out, it will be sheer madness at the station

With regards to these friday night games. Does the team that as been given a Friday night game have the right to say NO. We are not playing on friday night?
Or is the draw, the draw? what you got is what you have got?
Why is it only Wales that have the friday night game/s?
Have Wales actualy said that they prefair to play some of their games on Friday rather than Saturday or Sunday?

So no clashes with Cardiff FC fixtures?
No doubt the trains will have stopped running after the game and all the hotels will have trebled their rates.

Yep, the travel lodge in City centre is normally 70-80 quid a night, friends tried to book it for this years game and they were asking for 250 a night.

That's exactly the kind of knock-on effect that the WRU should have foreseen. People who are able to take the Friday off work or finish early to get to the game will still be obliged to stay in Cardiff for the night. Of course, this will all be spun as 'boosting the local economy'.

Re: RBS 6 Nations fixtures announced for 2014 & 2015 Championships
I was in the US for the announcement and as there are no flights ex Cardiff to Dublin to make it to the Aviva by 2.30 on Sat 8th Feb 14, I booked from there with Aer Lingus via Bristol for £92 return [ x 2 tickets]. Last time I looked this had gone up to £357. Moral of the story: get in early or go with the extortionate package vendors. My partner gets Mondays off but can't do Fridays, so we are sorted for 2014. Scotland on a Sunday in 2015 is no problem also. But I do feel for the English fans having to get to Cardiff on the 6th Feb 15 - I am happy for as many masochists as possible to turn up, not happy with obstacles like this put in their way.

Re: RBS 6 Nations fixtures announced for 2014 & 2015 Championships
As an England fan, I'm thinking of trying to get to all five away stadiums over the next 5 years. The two that stuck out for me were Italy Vs England on Super Saturday in 2014 and the Wales Vs England opener on a Friday night in 2015.
As someone who plays club rugby regularly, I wouldn't mind having no internationals kicking off Saturday at 3pm. For me, Friday nights, Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons are all much better.

Robbo227 - good luck, we go to the lot each year due to both working and having pensions, and Rome is great, but watch for pickpockets on buses especially. For the Wales v England in 2015 if accommodation is a problem that Friday night let me know, I bet we can get it sorted, given a bit of notice. I live about 4 miles from the stadium, so it's very easy for us.

I meant also to say that you can print Italy tickets at home after a download, so it is the easiest to book online direct.
