England Saxons... Empty England Saxons...

Maybe I'm being a bit thick, but I don't get how the England Saxons work. Its supposed to be the England 2nd XV right?

If so, why don't the players from the Elite player squad left out of the senior England side, instead of being sent back to their clubs, side play for the Saxons?

I think its more used as a development tool.

Though personally even saying that theres players who played yesterday that shouldnt be there.

Difficult to know who should be in there and who shouldn't.

I do think we required a few older heads like Monye, Abendanon, Deacon, Easter etc in the team to just give a bit of leadership and stability to the youngsters around them.

majority of those that played last night are 4th choice in their respective positions.I'm sure they would have gained valuable experience.Scotland deserved their win, fair play to them.

Biggest worry is Ford, he's the only option at the moment but unless he finds form quick he'll be a serious liability for us.

Maybe if he plays well tomorrow Clegg could get himself back in or around the Saxons. Otherwise i'm not sure who else is out there to choose from.

My biggest worry about ford is whether he will deal with the physicalality of the test arena.

Was he struggling with the physicality or just a lack of game time and decision making?

Ford looked like a lost boy yesterday. His kicking, decision making and defence are just a mile off.

Heathcote completely outplayed him.

All of the above.

He defended at FB but got stepped and lacks the pace to cover the position.

He still looks like a boy to me Yappy, totally out of his depth all night.

It was a poor performance but Ford stood out as weakness in the England team imo.
