Here is an updated list of confirmed entrants for this Sunday night's 2013 Royal Rumble battle royal match:

* Titus O’Neil
* Kofi Kingston
* Cody Rhodes
* Damien Sandow
* Jimmy Uso
* Jey Uso
* Brodus Clay
* Michael McGillicutty
* The Great Khali

There are 23 names listed above meaning 7 spots remain. We'll likely see several more names announced tonight at the SmackDown tapings and then a few "surprises" live on the pay-per-view.

My thoughts? Those 7 remaining better not be the likes of Sgt Slaughter etc or this isn't looking a promising Rumble, far too much filler in it for a 30 man.

You see I reckon the shield will be involved but not as legal participants

I can see ryback coming in and clearing house then the shield interrupt and either eliminate Ryback or he eliminates himself going after them

Based on previous years, there's usually a few on the "confirmed" list who don't make it. Maybe "confirmed" means, "We confirm they've asked to be in it. It's up to fate if their name comes out of the hat." Wink

That'd be a bigger flop than when Jericho unified the titles. I don't think Ziggler is anywhere near that level.

Now that Bryan and Kane have graduated from Anger Management, they brawl it all the way to the end where it is just the two of them left, one has to be eliminated and this causes a split in Team Hell No........

No Antlord, I could potentially see DB eliminating Kane though at some point in the Rumble to set up a Mania match but personally I'd prefer the tagteam to remain together longer.

It's widely considered to have been a flop, it certainly didn't propel Jericho to the level of Stone Cold or The Rock.

I can't see past John Cena winning the Runble, unfortunately. If I had to choose I would like either Dolph or Randy....actually or anyone that isn't John Cena.

I can't really comment on how I enjoyed it as I'd have been 7 at the time. You'd have been 4 or 5 so I'm not sure how much you can say you enjoyed it either...

I think Jericho's whole unification was a flop, it should have been Hogan and Austin at WrestleMania 18 for the Unification match, Jericho was a flavour of the month who soon became a transitional option, keeping the spot warm for Triple H to get his 'moment'

He went so far backwards after that run as the first undisputed Champion it was unreal, it took him 6 years to become anywhere near as relevent again.

As for the Rumble, I hope Bryan opens it with Ziggler, I'd like to see both of them do a good 40/50 minutes

I'm 'nearly' tempted to actually buy the PPV for the potential unpredictability. But do i want to spend £15 to see The Rock win the title, Cena win the Rumble and the 'suprise' entrants be Mark Henry, Tommy Dreamer and The New Age Outlaws? No, i wouldnt buy it for that.

However the optimist in me says after the stipulation made by Vince on Raw that perhaps Brock Lesnar could inferfere to help Punk. The optimist in me also wonders if Lesnar could enter the Rumble, if Batista could return (id mark), if Jericho could return. I think i might be clutching at straws though.

What i'm going to do is this. On Monday i'll ask someone on this board who knows me whether i should buy the PPV repeat. All i'll ask is 'shall i buy it' and based on what i dont want to see i'll trust you to made the right decision. My £15 will be in your hands.

Any takers? Hero, Gaffer, crips, Beer, Dr G?

The thing for me is WWE could stick 30 absolute chumps in the Rumble and Id still lash £15 at it as its the freekin Rumble, I just love the whole excitement of who's next, expecting a great name and then to be disappointed when Alex Riley or Yoshi Tatsu comes out.

Why do they announce whos in?? Seriously only 7 left and I bet at least 5 of them will be nobody's. Hardly a a surprise.

I expect Christian,Henry,show at least.

I love the Royal Rumble. It is my favourite PPV of the year (even more than Wrestlemania!), and the match itself is my favourite match ever! I love it!!!

I agree that it is spoilt some what by announcing the entrants, knowing that there are 7 'unknowns' and most of these we do actually know anyway - NAO etc

I love the Rumble because of the surprise factor, it doesn't matter that after the Rumble the returnee will be rubbish and return to using their usual 5 moves ( see Cena return as an example). It is that OMG mark out moment that the Rumble is all about

This isn’t confirmed but according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter John Morrison could be a surprise participant in the Royal Rumble.

They better leave Michael McGillicutty alone! Let them go after Khali or something Laugh

I'd have to agree if The Shield are not given permission to enter, then random attacks could be a good possibility on the night.

I'd personally like to see a couple of ex-wwf midcarders in there like Steve Blackman, Godfarther etc.. New Age Outlaws are a must too. I can remember watching 2002 where Mr.Perfect Curt Henning played the role of a one night return, he made it to the final 4! I'd love to see something like this again.
