Mick Foley to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Numerous sources around the internet are saying that Mick Foley will be inducted to the WWE HoF this year, in New Jersey.

Thoughts? I for one think it is thouroughly deserved, and surprised it hasnt happened sooner.

Imagine its to tie in with a Punk storyline after their back and forth but well deserved regardless

Got to be Funk, I think thats who Foley would ask for.

Foley himself has said he wants the Funker or JR. With the amount of respect Funk clearly has for Foley, I can't see him turning it down. Same goes for JR, but I reckon Funk will be first choice.

WWE have now confirmed that Foley will indeed be the first inductee. Im happy for him, theres not many others deserve it as much as he does.

Well deserved! So many superstars could induct him as he's had an impact on so many careers e.g. The Rock, Taker, Stone Cold for the great fued during the attitude era!

I like Foley and think that he should be in there when compared to some of the guys in (stand up Koko), however, I do think that the whole HoF set up is cheapened by the number of people they induct each year, the quality and the pettyness of who can go in.

I really wish there was an independent HoF, in which I would have no qualms about putting in Mrs Foleys baby boy.

This is a fairly independent HOF, and it's voted by a panel so it's not totally subject to Meltzer's whims.

which is unafilliated, Foley is not in this one as of yet.

V2 Hall of Fame sounds interesting, could set up a poll maybe monthly and the nominated wrestler would need 75% of the vote to get in!

Wrestling Globe Newsletter reports that other names under consideration include Bob Backlund and Jake “The Snake” Roberts. Trish Stratus has also been talked about as a Diva induction and if they can sway him Mr. T as a celebrity induction.

Triple H was at one point looking to have Bruno Sammartino inducted, if he can finally make peace with Vince McMahon.
