The Inaugural 606v2 End of Year Awards

So its fast approaching another new year!! I think it would be fun to have an end of year awards ceremony. There are a lot of interesting characters on 606v2 as well as some very informative rugby posters, so plenty of categories to choose from.


Categories
As I think everyone should be involved, I ask now for categories. On the 14/12/12 I'll go through this thread and choose a selection of the most popular categories. I will then post a new thread with all of the categories.

Nominations
Once the categories thread is up I'll ask you all to privately email me your nominations for each category, for which there'll be another cutoff date (22/12/12 @ 5pm). You may nominate yourself for any category if you so wish.

The Award Ceremony
Once all the nominations are in I'll create a thread for each category with the results, saving most important ones for last. These will be posted on the 23/12/12 in the evening some time, probably 9pm.

So to get the ball rolling here are a few categories...

Thread of the year (So you'd email me the contributor and the title of the thread, ie Bsando - "Thread Title")

Most Amusing Poster (I'm sure we can think of a better name for this, ie The Clown Award or something of that nature)

Most Positive Contributor

Most Passionate Contributor

Post as many as you can think of and state which ones you like the best so I can choose the favs easily

Should be some sort of mention of the Admins, they do good work, maybe like best admin award.

Hat Eating Contest- whoever's had to eat the most of their own words this year (a lot of Welsh and anti-LW posters in this category)

I just thought of one.

The Bryce award (for the poster who moaned about referees the most)

Has to be a WUM of the year award!

e.g.
LW will not win an AP game
NZ will tear England a new one

etc on that theme

Yes, I say ex posters deserve to be considered posthumously for all awards.
Some of the finest services to Wummaging on 606v2 were performed heroically, with total disregard for personal 606 life & safety,
just before these heroes met their untimely end.

MOD of the year

The 'Most Valued' award. Someone who almost always contributes positively to the forum.

The 'PDivvy' award. Someone who spouts off a lot, but no one knows what they're on about.

The 'Defender of the Faith' award. Despite how garbage their team have been they will defend them against any comment.

The 'Broken Record award'. I have a few nominees for this one....

Nice, very nice! I'm keeping a tally of all of these fellas, don't be shy. More positive/humorous the better I'd say, although i think there has to be a few cheeky ones in there too.

These awards tend to be a massive phoney love in and are a bit pointless (in my opinion). Be a lot of biased behaviour again, I expect.

The rough diamond award - the poster with his heart in the right place but has a total lack of diplomacy.

Pot Hale's 'Least Likely to Say I Was Wrong Award' (and I'm not wrong on that choice)
Hound's 'Defender of the Faith Award' (ruthless defence of a bad team)
Glas's 'Dan Carter Award' (knowledgeable, well intentioned but boring)

"The Scotland" - Given to the poster who writes articles you look forard to seeing but end up being dissapointed with in the end.

"The Wales" - Given to the poster whose performance has dropped drastically since the start of the year

"The Hore" - Given to the post that is the cheapest shot

"The mcCaw" - Given to the poster who has flirted with the rules the most and never been pulled up about it

"The Dan Parks" - Given to the poster that we are most glad has buggered off

"The Inverdale" - Given to the post or poster that puffs the most hot air but has little effect in actually providing a balanced discusion

No not really. One award is for trying but failing to be funny the other is for saying something inappropriate or saying something that makes you look stupid. Not exactly the same thing is it?

True. Though one is all too often mistaken for the other
