Your task is simple. FIFA are setting up their museum to celebrate the history of football. Your task is to select your greatest ever World XI, along with 5 subs and a manager. Pick the formation that best reflects football history and then fill it with the best players to make the team.

Doesn't say tactics are required - this is a team for a museum not a match.

Manager wise we should be looking at guys with worldwide reputations, but also to represent history, a bit of an innovator. I'd nominate Rinus Michels as the manager of Ajax and Holland in the 70s for producing winning teams (Ajax European cup wins, Holland WC finals) and doing it in an incredible manner with stylish football. He could also clearly man manage huge egos with Cruyff being under him.

Peter Taylor was Clough's assistant for a long while (not the same one that managed England for one game, different guy)
Bob Paisley was assistant manager at Liverpool before taking over from Shankly.
Otherwise it could be anyone with a name really. But, would Fifa care about legendary assistant managers is the question...

If don't say we need an assitant manager then don't go for one, Paisley will be known as one of the greatest managers not assitant manager.

Zinedine Zidane is known as the greatest player of his generation, his skill, vision and executution. He made everything look easy and in a graceful way, Zidane was always up for the biggest games and none come bigger then the World Cup Final or Champions League final where he made the difference between going home as gods or losers.

The formation chosen was the classic 4-4-2. This formation has endured since its inception, and continues to be utilised today. It provides the classic balance between attack and defence that was sought by teams as the game evolved, and brought the notion of four men at the back to the fore.
It has been the staple formation for many successful teams in history, and while modern thinking has more players being utilised in midfield, most formations can be directly referenced back to 4-4-2 in terms of their basis.

Michels was a footballing innovator, and a purist that started the notion of ‘total football’ where every player is capable of playing every position and the game is played on the ground with fluid movement all over the pitch. Incidentally, this style had Johan Cruyff as one of its disciples, and he took on the ideals to create Barcelona’s ‘dream team’ of the early 1990s. This then spawned the Barcelona we see today – with Pep Guardiola taking his former managers style further into the modern era.
In many ways, the birth of this style would be enough to insert Michels as manager, but he backed the style up with substance – and trophies.
He amassed 4 Dutch titles, 3 domestic cups, and Ajax’s first European Cup in his spell in charge. He had further success at Barcelona, winning the league title with them in his first season. He then took on the challenge of the Dutch national team, leading one of the finest national teams of all time to the 1974 World Cup final, only to be beaten by Germany. He returned to manage the Netherlands a second time however, delivering their only major tournament victory at the 1988 European Championships.
Forwards
Pele – Pele has been acclaimed widely as the greatest to have played the game, and he would certainly have a fair claim to being the most complete player the world has ever seen, with no obvious weakness to his game. He spent his club career with Santos in Brazil, with no need to migrate to Europe to prove his greatness – he proved that with appearances in 3 Brazilian World Cup winning teams.
He is famed for having scored more than 1000 goals in his career, and he remains the top scorer for the Brazil national team ahead of strikers such as Romario, and Ronaldo.
Maradona – He is seen as the most reasonable challenger to Pele’s claim as the greatest of all time. Maradona was good enough to improve good sides into great ones, and perennial challengers for trophies. With Argentina, he led his team to World Cup glory in 1986 with a series of memorable goals and performances, even if he is a cheating little swine. He transformed Napoli from Italian also-rans, into champions in their league, twice. He retains legendary status with Napoli, and deity status in his homeland of Argentina.
With a mix of pace, power, and unreal dribbling skills, he formed the benchmark for forwards worldwide (and especially in Argentina) to be measured against.
Puskas – Puskas rose to fame with a stunning goal at Wembley stadium against England in an historic 6-3 win over England for the Magyars. With a drag back sending the defenders the wrong way, and an explosive finish, Puskas summed up his ability as a goalscorer of incredible pedigree. He scored goals in spades wherever he played, but most famously at Real Madrid, in the all conquering side of the late 50’s and early 60’s. He led Hungary to the brink of an improbable World Cup victory but they ultimately fell to Germany.
Nicknamed the Galloping Major, Puskas possessed a ferocious left foot, and an eye for goal that is quite possibly unsurpassed by any striker before or since.
Messi – Messi is the closest thing that there has been to a successor to Maradona, and the similarities are striking. A left footed forward with exceptional dribbling ability, Messi is the fulcrum of possibly the greatest club side ever. His goalscoring record is phenomenal, and currently unmatched in modern football. Many speak of Messi as one of the greatest players of all time, and his name is mentioned alongside the two untouchables of Pele and Maradona – and he is only 24 years old.
Success with Argentina has so far eluded him, although perhaps more down to circumstance and misfortune than lack of trying. In club football, he has won everything that is worth winning.

Messi is the closest thing that there has been to a successor to Maradona, and the similarities are striking. I'm guessing your Word is set to English (US). You can change it to the UK version so it doesn't correct perfectly good words though.
