I didn't notice it at the time but the BBC have just highlighted a bottle being thrown onto the track just as the 100m runners were about to leave their blocks.

Hopefully this won't mar what has been a great games so far.

Thats a shame but so far the event has been very well behaved with almost no incidents. With all the fears about anti-social riots and terrorism that have been discussed over the last number of years so far the whole event has run very smoothly all things considered.

A Dutch lady royally slapped the person in question on the back and got arrested for it and missed the final. She has become an over night hero in Holland for doing that Very Happy

I don't think she got arrested, just missed the race as she held the muppet down until police arrived.
