First topic message reminder :

Usain Bolt still is the World's Fastest Man. Murray has Olympic Gold. Big Ben rules the waves.

Day 10, over to you!

The bitterness of the French cycling team was delicious, like a good espresso, even before we beat their "favourite" in the sprint. Can't wait to see their reaction now. No offence to any French people here (well, whocares)- nothing to do with you but it was galling when I read nearly-accusations in the paper this morning. Including against Ennis, which is probably punishable by death in Britain at the moment

In the pole vault final, Holly Bleasdale of GB has failed with her first 2 attempts at 4.45 Meters.

But she succeeds with attempt 3! I gotta say, I'm watching the stream of it on the BBC website and it sounds fantastic without the commentary!

Good to hear. I believe if they win they'll top the group and play the Kiwis in the Semi-Final.

Everyone out at the Semi of the 400m Hurdles....very disappointing for Perry Shakes who it would seem peaked and left her form back in Crystal Palace!!

Why anyone would cheer Gatlin is beyond me...should have booed him out of the stadium! Pure Scum!!

Nope, Shakes Drayton got into the final courtesy of a DQ. Very very lucky.

Be a tougher Semi-Final, will probably have to play Argentina who, I think, are the World's best at Women's hockey.

Boxing Quarter-Finals coming up for GB. A win would would guarantee a Semi-Final place and a Medal (remember losing semi-finalists each get a Bronze). Anthony Ogogo is up at 21:30 against Stefan Hartel of Germany and super-heavyweight Anthony Joshua is on at 23:15 against Zhang Zeilei of China.

Yes Perry Shakes is very lucky indeed...I think that Van Com will feel very mixed in his views of the track & field so far.... we are getting athletes into finals I suppose but in terms of depth outside of those who we knew should be making final's their hasn't been to much to shout out about...

Although still a great games overall...scratch that a fantastic, amazing, incredible games so far so I shall try to stay very positive!!

Flicking between that and BBC1....Congrats to James their, have to say though BBC should not have shown Michael Johnson's 400m runs before that final because in comparison it just looked horrible lol...

Makes you realise just how perfect a technician Johnson was..so so smooth, barely looked like he was working...

Cracking time by James though and his countries first ever medal at the games

Ogogo did well and won his bout 15-10. He's now in the semis and guaranteed a medal but he'll be thinking how he's 2 wins away from glory.

So from today's medal chances... Tweddle got bronze, Pervis got nothing, Show Jumpers got Gold, Kenny got Gold, Greene got nothing and Bleasedale got nothing.

Bleasedale seemed to freeze completely - she never looked comfortable. Disappointing for Tweddle in some ways, though she only made a tiny mistake in the grand scheme of things so I won't be too harsh on her.

Great performance from Kenny to continue the Cycling dominance. We could and perhaps should get three more tomorrow.

Fantastically well done to the Show Jumpers who kept so cool. Equestrian could yet be very productive for us this Games - a chance of 2 golds in the Dressage tomorrow, and a chance for Skelton in the individual jumping final.

Spain who is the current european and vice olympic champion in basket ball "took it easy" and lost against brazil...this allow them not to play the USA till the final... great sportmanship.

To be fair, this link shows more reasonable comments and it may be that the original I read was being misleading. Of course, for a heptathlete, winning the 800m with ease is actually fairly normal

Yeah, the ability to comment on blogs brings out the worst in people and there is a lot of Francophobia in the UK unfortunately. Hug Best of enemies right? Been a great year for France in the pool at least
