Prediction League Rules

The points system will be:
1 point for correct winner
1 point for correct method if points you must state UD, MD, SD. If you state a points victory you will get an extra point for UD, SD, MD this would count the same as predicting the timing of a stoppage in a fight
1 point for correct time in fight. Early 1-4, mid 5-8, late 9-12
Their will be a bonus point for getting all 3 correct.
Their will be four points for a draw.
Every week a time will be set that predictions must be posted by anyone who edits their predictons after this time will get a score of -5 for the week.

First time out the league will run for the month of April. This is just to see how it works and any improvements that can be made. It will run for 3 months at a time after that. All fights for the upcoming week will be posted no later than the Wednesday of that week. All results are verified by boxrec and their word is final. You must predict the outcome of all fights or your selections will be void.
This will work best with input from everyone. All ideas and suggestions would be grately appreciated.

Getting the correct round is more down to guesswork than anything else, why not have "Early" or "Late" KO like IJK (rest his soul) used to do?

Like it early, mid and late.

That was what I said on the other thread - early, mid, late.

What about decisions? Any bonus points there?

No just going to run it like this for April and see what it's like. Look at it make any changes that need to be made and start a 3 month one in May.

If I predict a decision do I still predict 'late' rounds for an extra point?

Always pick a time incase the fight is stopped on accidental cuts and goes to the scorecards

Personally I think don't award bonus points on technical points wins (accidental cuts) or disqualification wins.

1 Point winner;
1 point method;
1 bonus point for decision type; Wide(=>12 rounds total)/ Close(<12 rounds)/ Split (or Majority) Decision
or 1 bonus point for stoppage type; Early(1-4), Middle (5-8.) and late (9-12) knockouts.

Picking a round incase of accidental cuts is pot luck.

You're right it is pot luck if you pick points you don't need to pick a round just UD, MD, SD

Sounds a good system and will work.

On a technical decision are you going to count that as a round stoppage or points? Also, how many points for calling a draw?

It would be a stoppage.

Presumably 4 points for a draw. No point predicting that (or even SD or MD tbh), UD will probably always be the strongest pick.

4 for a draw can't see many going for it tbh so not an issue really.
