Would be good to see Ole Gunnar back in the game over here. However not sure how Villa would take to him as a lot of their fans were fed up with O'Neil near the end and he was doing a very fine job.

I am not disappointed with this, at least it suggests we are willing to try something a bit different and he will certainly bring youth and enthusiasm to the table. Think we also need to be realistic as Villa fans, we are clearly not spending like we did under O'Neill and so couple that with perhaps inflated expectations in the short term and the calibre of known managers we will be able to attract is going to be pretty limited.

In the limited career he has had thus far he seems to have done pretty well and so we could be getting someone who may develop into a top manager. Whilst he may not have premiership experience he has 12 years at old trafford in various guises so is not coming in completely green.

Good move, done well all be it in the Norwegian league but a league title for a side who haven't won it for 100 years cannot be ignored. That experience under Fergie is priceless plus he always had a good football brain.

What he's like in the transfer market I don't know but I think he'd do well working with the youngsters at Villa like Banna, Albrighton and Delfounso.

He's friends with Jan Molby, that should be enough reason to appoint him.

On the downside he played for Man Utd.
