How gutted must they feel!!
Seriously why on earth would you leave early??? It is the biggest game in your clubs recent history and you leave before the end. Serves them right that they missed it, a real fan doesn't leave early.

They have paid the price already. They will regret that decision for the rest of their lives. It will feel like losing a winning lottery ticket.

Yes, fans should stay til the end and I'm sure that if only one goal was required the ground would have been full til the final whistle.
But City needed two goals and the match was already in to stoppage time, so you can, perhaps, understand how some people - bitterly disappointed - just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible.
I wonder if there were any Man U fans who missed the comeback against Bayern by leaving early ? I heard a story about a bloke who dropped his mobile when Sheringham equalised and missed the winner while he searched for it.

Nice piece in one of the nationals today about the guy who left early and heard the Man City equaliser and winner while in his car. I once left a Spurs game 20 minutes before time when they were 5-1 down to Chelsea. Final score? 6-1 to Chelsea.
Apparently there were some who left the February 2011 Newcastle-Arsenal match at half-time with the Magpies 4-0 down, only for the home side to get it back to 4-4 and almost win in at the death.

Some bloke put money on Newcastle to draw that at half time at 1000/1

Mind you I can re-call the tragic story of that fan who committed suicide at half time during the Liverpool/AC Milan game of 2005.
