The Cabin in the Woods

Saw this a few weeks ago at an advance screening.

The trailer doesnt really do the film justice. Its not a straightforward horror film. In fact, I would say its more of a comedy than a horror film.

For those who have seen the trailer, I would say that it accounts for only about half of the film - the other half....well without wanting to spoil it, is very interesting in concept, indeed.

AS someone who knew very little about the film, I actually was pleasantly surprised about how good it was. Bearing in mind it had sat on the shelves of MGM for 2 years, it had stinker written all over it. And it is far from that.

Very funny, good lead characters and a very good plot that plays with horror conventions in the same way that Scream played with the Slasher movie.

Highly recommended if you love your horror films and want an enjoyable 2 hours.

9/10 (it gets that high a mark as I was expecting it to be quite poor, so bonus points for exceeding my expectation
