Tactics
In the rainy conditions, we've adjusted our usual game plan to place more emphasis on the set piece and breakdown area. In general, we will use our piston system and look to use our running power to get over the gain line. We'll use the boot sensibly play position. If it's on, we'll trust in our handling ability and have a go.
- Use the set piece as a platform to build attacks. For scrums, big efforts from the engine room to hold it steady. Dermody, Danahar and Hala'ufia come in to add weight. Hala'ufia to pick if it gets messy and set the plaform.
- Similarly with the lineout, use jumpers Kennedy Danahar and Pocock. Opt for full lineouts in their half to tie in their pack and try to initiate a rolling maul to give the backs more time.
- Target the breakdown for possible turnovers, with Pocock staying strong on his feet. When they arise, lets use them to our advantage. If the back three are sparse, look to kick for territory. If there are mis-matches, lets have a go.
- Be disciplined at the breakdown, with a guard and bodyguard at every breakdown to stop those easy yards around the fringes. No excuses here.
- Use the piston system Irish have developed so well. Big runners off Bowden to give us real go forward, inside and outside runs.
- For slow ball, look to get outside their guards and bodyguards to suck in more and more forwards at each breakdown. This will give more time to the backs.
- Simpson to prawl behind the defense line and mop up any breaks or half breaks. Patrol the breakdown area and keep an eye up for numbers.
- Play rugby in their half. Bowden to put us in the right places and alow us to use our lineout weapon.

Quins will look to be physical in wet conditions and dominate Irish up front by opting to retain Budgen at TH for he’s Scrummaging abilities. We plan to play a territory based game using the boots of Burgess and Evans to ping Irish into there own half and build the pressure on them and punish them on the scoreboard.

In the conditions we will play a forward dominated game and turn this into a scrap. We will look to get big carriers across the gainline and support players to the contact area quickly to ruck past the ball and free it up quickly to go again.
We will use the boots of Cruden and Nacewa to play the game in the Gloucester half of the field. Off lineouts we will look to use the maul to good effect. In defence we will blitz with Haydn Thomas sweeping behind.

We are giving a few players their chance to stake their claim for a starting spot this week and want to see points proven with a big pack and pace and youth in the backs. We will look to play simple rugby in the backs with easy hands and exploiting the gaps when they come. We will look to push Sale to force the ball out wide and block off any attack they atempt. Fast attractive rugby is the aim today.
Forwards
*Front row to look to hold their own and this is their chance to prove their worth here, look to go low and drive up on Chistolini.
*Look to target their lineout with Strokosch marshalling the troops here.
*Use our experienced Backrow to put pressure on their breakdown and use their 'skills' to slow the ball down.
*Put pressure on 10 to prevent him playing well and slowing down their ball.
*Use our bench wisely with Harden, Qera and Whitelock able to come on and change the game or shore up problem places if required.
Backs
*Quick ball to Burns who will look to release the young wingers who both have pace to burn. If nothing's on then pin them into the corners and add pressure on lineouts.
*Centres to go route A straight through the defence looking for the offloads to the forward support or the back 3's who all have pace to burn.
*Wingers to run back any kicked ball looking for space and forwards to support them.
*Tindall to lead an 'in your face' defence with a forward looking to steal/slow down ball at each breakdown.

* In our 22 use Donald and Steyn to kick long, but find touch. Play sensible rugby in our half, mixing up the point of attack with Donald and Steyn interchanging and Steyn dropping in behind as a second playmaker, looking for gaps upfield
* Donald and Steyn to take the ball flat on the gainline, looking to test opposition fly halves defence at every opportunity, using the crash ball to break the gainline and set up a ruck for quick ball
* Dagg encouraged to come into the line during attack and given a free rein, looking to track the shoulders of Steyn and Lualala when they make the half break. Look to isolate Gopperth in defence
* Steyn to lead the rush defence, pressurising the half backs and looking for intercepts. Banahan and Chisholm unleashed after 50 mins to test tired defence, the former will relish running at tired defenders
FORWARDS
* Use channel 1 ball at scrum time to get the ball into Cook's hands as quickly as possible. Power of Lund and control of Skirving to set up the ruck
* Mercer plays as the out and out 7, making a nuisance of himself and unsettling the opposition half backs

General Gameplan;
We will be up in the opposition faces, not giving them a moment to spare, pressure will grow and lead to mistakes and penalties.
Our pack is fully committed to the Falcons cause and the front five along with the backrow will look to dominate the collisions and rucks to give us forward momentum. This will get us over the gainline each time, and will cause the opposition defence to always be on the back foot.
The quality possession from our clever and dynamic forward play will allow us to release our potent backline, with Pasqualin looking to play intelligently by getting the ball away from the rucks as quick as possible in attack. This will allow Heathcote and Shingler to pull the strings in midfield and create mismatches so we can spread the ball out wide to our dangerous runners to make use of the space on offer.
Key Points;
Strong Spine; With our powerful front five, we will get the drive on, on our ball to create space and time for our 8-9-10.
Scrums; Against their ball we will get the shove and attempt to wheel the scrum so that their halfbacks become isolated from their backline.
Lineouts;will be a solid supply for possession for us, as our pack contains four strong and athletic jumpers.
Defensive set up;The pressure here will lead to mistakes and opportunities from scrums and penalties for us to take advantage of. We will always challenge their lineout, other than when we are on our own five metre, where will look to sack the jumper as soon as he lands on his feet.
Breakdowns; We have selected a very physical and committed team, and will always work for each other and put their bodies online for one another. We will legally slow down ball and look for turnovers.
Defensive line; We won't commit more than two players to any of the rucks on their ball, unless the turnover is on. If they have won the ball we look to get into line and then press at the same speed. The scrum-half will sweep behind, with the fullback also further back - creating three lines of defence.
Backs; We will look to play some simple rugby at this stage against a good team at home. Backs to be clever look for mismatches and numbers advantages to work opportunities to put our wingers or whoever is spare over the try line. Heathcote will direct traffic offering a spark to get an exciting midfield moving.
Penalties; Heathcote will look to take all penalties within his range, unless Shaw dictates we have a serious advantage at the lineout where will kick for touch.

Tactics
General Gameplan;
We will be up in the opposition faces, not giving them a moment to spare, pressure will grow and lead to mistakes and penalties.
Our pack is fully committed to the Falcons cause and the front five along with the backrow will look to dominate the collisions and rucks to give us forward momentum. This will get us over the gainline each time, and will cause the opposition defence to always be on the back foot.
The quality possession from our clever and dynamic forward play will allow us to release our potent backline, with Pasqualin looking to play intelligently by getting the ball away from the rucks as quick as possible in attack. This will allow Heathcote and Shingler to pull the strings in midfield and create mismatches so we can spread the ball out wide to our dangerous runners to make use of the space on offer.
Key Points;
Strong Spine; With our powerful front five, we will get the drive on, on our ball to create space and time for our 8-9-10.
Scrums; Against their ball we will get the shove and attempt to wheel the scrum so that their halfbacks become isolated from their backline.
Lineouts;will be a solid supply for possession for us, as our pack contains four strong and athletic jumpers.
Defensive set up;The pressure here will lead to mistakes and opportunities from scrums and penalties for us to take advantage of. We will always challenge their lineout, other than when we are on our own five metre, where will look to sack the jumper as soon as he lands on his feet.
Breakdowns; We have selected a very physical and committed team, and will always work for each other and put their bodies online for one another. We will legally slow down ball and look for turnovers.
Defensive line; We won't commit more than two players to any of the rucks on their ball, unless the turnover is on. If they have won the ball we look to get into line and then press at the same speed. The scrum-half will sweep behind, with the fullback also further back - creating three lines of defence.
Backs; We will look to play some simple rugby at this stage against a good team at home. Backs to be clever look for mismatches and numbers advantages to work opportunities to put our wingers or whoever is spare over the try line. Heathcote will direct traffic offering a spark to get an exciting midfield moving.
Penalties; Heathcote will look to take all penalties within his range, unless Shaw dictates we have a serious advantage at the lineout where will kick for touch.
Substitutions; We willl look to use our powerful bench to make some momentum changing substitutes and to allow us to blood new players and combinations.

Not far off mate. Don't feel I have much choice but to stick out a strong side, as when I leave Bismarck and Horwill out it gets picked up in predos as nobody seems to rate their replacements (despite them all having a very strong season in real life).
Gone for a young bench though. All 8 are either Eng U20 or U18 players. Chiefs academy looks to be really churning out some talent at present. be good for me in the long term if this game keeps going as long as the other one.

TACTICS
We are unbeaten at home and on a good run of form, but if the result is in doubt, we have the likes of Mears, Louw, Classens to come off the bench and make a real impact. If we have a comfortable lead, we look to introduce Beaumont and Eastmond for some crucial gametime experience.
We have picked a mobile team, who will look to play exciting, attacking rugby and play with instinct. We want the youngster to continue their development by playing their natural game, with the experience of Muller, Lund, Donald and Steyn throughout the core to ensure we keep a professional performance and come away with the win.
The axis of Donald and Steyn gives us plenty of kicking options, to ensure we play in the right areas and to give us the territory to play our attacking game. Steyn to kick penalties, to ensure we come away with points on each visit to the 22. If slow ball, use Steyn's drop goal as a weapon, using scoreboard pressure to disrupt Quins and unsettle the home crowd. With two lineout leaders in Hooper and Muller in the team, we will look to challenge at the lineout and use it as a real opportunity to tie in opposition forwards, creating space out wide.
GENERAL
* We have the advantage of some consistency in selection and haven't made huge changes from last week, unlike our opponents. I wanted to keep some fluidity in the team, to ensure we can follow up with another win.

Tactics
In the rainy conditions, we've adjusted our usual game plan to place more emphasis on the set piece and breakdown area. In general, we will use our piston system and look to use our running power to get over the gain line. We'll use the boot sensibly play position. If it's on, we'll trust in our handling ability and have a go.
- Use the set piece as a platform to build attacks. For scrums, big efforts from the engine room to hold it steady. Dermody, Danahar and Hala'ufia come in to add weight. Hala'ufia to pick if it gets messy and set the plaform.
- Similarly with the lineout, use jumpers Kennedy Danahar and Pocock. Opt for full lineouts in their half to tie in their pack and try to initiate a rolling maul to give the backs more time.
- Target the breakdown for possible turnovers, with Pocock staying strong on his feet. When they arise, lets use them to our advantage. If the back three are sparse, look to kick for territory. If there are mis-matches, lets have a go.
- Be disciplined at the breakdown, with a guard and bodyguard at every breakdown to stop those easy yards around the fringes. No excuses here.
- Use the piston system Irish have developed so well. Big runners off Bowden to give us real go forward, inside and outside runs.

Tactics
In the rainy conditions, we've adjusted our usual game plan to place more emphasis on the set piece and breakdown area. In general, we will use our piston system and look to use our running power to get over the gain line. We'll use the boot sensibly play position. If it's on, we'll trust in our handling ability and have a go.
- Use the set piece as a platform to build attacks. For scrums, big efforts from the engine room to hold it steady. Dermody, Danahar and Hala'ufia come in to add weight. Hala'ufia to pick if it gets messy and set the plaform.
- Similarly with the lineout, use jumpers Kennedy Danahar and Pocock. Opt for full lineouts in their half to tie in their pack and try to initiate a rolling maul to give the backs more time.
- Target the breakdown for possible turnovers, with Pocock staying strong on his feet. When they arise, lets use them to our advantage. If the back three are sparse, look to kick for territory. If there are mis-matches, lets have a go.
- Be disciplined at the breakdown, with a guard and bodyguard at every breakdown to stop those easy yards around the fringes. No excuses here.
- Use the piston system Irish have developed so well. Big runners off Bowden to give us real go forward, inside and outside runs.

Our pack is fully committed to the Falcons cause and the front five along with the backrow will look to dominate the collisions and rucks to give us forward momentum. This will get us over the gainline each time, and will cause the opposition defence to always be on the back foot.
The quality possession from our clever and dynamic forward play will allow us to release our potent backline, with Pasqualin looking to play intelligently by getting the ball away from the rucks as quick as possible in attack. This will allow Heathcote and Shingler to pull the strings in midfield and create mismatches so we can spread the ball out wide to our dangerous runners to make use of the space on offer.

Sarries have put out another strong pack and need to be wary of fatigue, but they have far too much power upfront against a weakened opposition. Sarries get complete domination up front and that gives an armchair ride for their half backs, which Brock enjoys. Great bench from Wuss, but the damage is done up front and Sarries also have enough to ensure they grab the win

In the rain and eager to prove a point to new boss Arry , Saracens was grizzled pack manage to dominate Worcester and allow Spencer and James to get a stranglhold on the game.

Gloucester are a team build for strawberry eating days in the sun whilst the Cheifs pack will have been performing rain dances till the early hours and they have the conditions to get on the front foot with a mean front row with Murphey at LH for Gloucester the worst in that role in the AP. penalties will come Exeters way and Cruden has started the season well.
Sale 12 Leicester 10
Sale at home and with there pack should dominate most sides and in a attrition game take the spoils. White holds his own but doesn't dish out any pastings these days. Mcleoad is kicking everything and anything off the tee this season.

Mafi / Kenedy is a nice combo, a carrier and a lineout organiser and they edge their opposite numbers. Two very exciting backlines, Quins have the best halfbacks on show, but will be outclassed in the centres and with Taki out wide, Delon and Homer winning the kicking game I have the home team down

Now the backline looks tasty as well, with the physical edge of Naqi and Kahui, they can really get over the gainline and with Steffon and Bismarck they have two blokes who will clear out the rucks nicely. I think that the Glos backline can really be got at defensively, with Trinder sceptible, Clark inexperienced and Morgan out of form

Don't see much in the backs, but Sale to edge it with Macloed playing the conditions better and giving them territory. Care and Flood coming together nicely and in a few games time it will be a potent partnership, but they still need bedding in.

Saints to win the front row and second row, with Falcons really struggling for 80 mins in the lock department. Think the Falcons backline looks like a really nice balance and 10 12 13 looks good for the future. I did have Saints down for the win originally, but I'm not convinced by elliot at 13 and the lack of tactics cost them here.

I can see the initial set piece battle being along with lines of England v Ireland and Saracens just completely dominating off the back of it. Worcester have massive impact to come off the bench, but I think it will be too late by the time they get on the field as Saracens will be out of sight.

I don't see much between these two sides in truth. Think Quins could get the nudge in the scrum with neither Irish prop having showed up well at all this season, but Irish will dominate the breakdown and have more about them in the loose. Prefer Quins half backs but Irish's outside backs, so in the end it comes down to home advantage for a narrow win.

Two pretty evenly matched packs. Really Like Tigers 6 and 7 and they will bring an awful lot of dynamism and youthful energy around the breakdown. Behind the packs I think Sale have a bit more power but Leicester have a bit more skill. really tough to call as there is genuinely very little between the sides, but at a wet, cold Edgeley Park I am going for that bit more power in the backs to win it for Sale.
Two pretty evenly matched packs. Really Like Tigers 6 and 7 and they will bring an awful lot of dynamism and youthful energy around the breakdown. Behind the packs I think Sale have a bit more power but Leicester have a bit more skill. really tough to call as there is genuinely very little between the sides, but at a wet, cold Edgeley Park I am going for that bit more power in the backs to win it for Sale.

Sarries to dominate this for me. They are stronger in the pack throughout and James at 10 will be clever enough to ensure the complete domination in the pack translates to a win. Worcester to get consolation score. But Sarries complete domination at scrum time will be telling aainst the inexperiecned Worcester pack. Also not sure Goode will do enough with the limited ball he will get.
Irish 25 Quins 20
Very close game here. But i think Irish's backrow has a slight advantage and Irish's back 3 is lethal and the metronomic boot of Homer will ensure Irish get the win. Also think Hape and King will enjoy success against Casson and Daly. Niether front rrow has an advantage, but think Kennedy could get a few lineout steals. Evans vs Bowden is very interesting and i think Evans will win that battle but it won't be enough.
Exeter 19 Gloucester 12
Exeter are too strong for this gloucester team especially up front, where i think they will get a big advanatge especially in the front 5 with Bismark and Horwill both starting. Gloucester have backs who can produce a moment of magic but Exeter's backs look strong defensively and the centre combo of Nirevluqi and Kahui will be very good and wll highlight Trinder defensively. Gloucester's bench to make a slight difference and earn them a LBP.
Bath 12 Wasps 18
I think Wasps pack has a slight edge and with Robinson and Gopperth playing they will definetly being playing the right areas. I can't see either team running riot in the backs so the boot of Gopperth frmo the tee will win it for Wasps. Bath lack experience in the front row and their tighthead will be targeted, and will struggle even though he is not up against a massive scrummaging Wasps team.

Not a lot in it. I think Falcons will get parity up front for the first 60 mins and with Heathcote at 10 and their centres they will get a decent lead. However in the last 20 mins i think the Falcons pack will be struggling especially with Casey and Shaw in the 2nd row and no replacement 2nd row. And Lambs will really start enjoying himself when he is getting top quality front foot ball to play with. But Newcastle will do just enough to hold on for the draw.

Pack control from the outset for a strong Sarries side. I see scrum edge and similar in the lineout. I can't see a huge scoring game but with Spencer & Brock getting a bit of an armchair ride they'll never really be in trouble. Worcester have rotated really well (perhaps a little too well?) and they'll be fresh for the season run in.

Cheeky front row battle with Quins just getting a nudge on, see a little swing in the engine room though with a nice combo from Irish. Think Irish have a little more in the backrow and with that a slight pack edge. Loving Quins halfbacks and a little edge in the backs although a cracking contest. Home advantage sees Irish through in a belter.

See Pete rolling out the big guns and having a real impact on scrum & front 5 grunt. Backrows are a little more even but overall a edge for Exeter. Strong backlines for both sides and like the influx of signings for Exeter (Cruden/Kahui) and Exeter will win with style.

Think Wasps would get a little edge on in front 5 & set piece. Similar story in the backrow with better carrying options that will look to get Wasps momentum in the pack. Little edge in the halfbacks for Wasps but Bath look tasty in the backline. It'll be a tight one but Wasps have enough control and off the bench to sneak it.

Real close front 5 battle with a little lineout edge for the home side. Falcons engine room must be close to death and Casey hard to fully rate. Backrow to Falcons with Kaino smashing Saints all over the park. May see issues with fluidity at 8/9/10 though. Little more quality in the backs and a strong game plan sees Falcons through.

A very strong Saracens team takes the initiative from the outset, as their forwards win the collisions and set piece battles. This allows the halfbacks time and space to dictate the game and pull the strings in midfield for them. The rotation in the Worcester team upsets their momentum a little bit, but has allowed them to look very fresh for the run.
London Irish 18 - 19 Harlequins
A very good even game at the Madejski stadium, however I think there are some clear points in the teams which filter out through the duration of the game. Quins get the nudge on in the scrum, but they can't keep up with the Irish lineout. Quins also suffer a little in the back row, but Easter's experience allows there to be some solidity. Irish halfbacks manage to get quick ball to their backs, but they aren't as efficient or as deadly as the Quins duo that provide the ball at the right times for their deadly back three. But the quality of the Irish backline can't be ignored; however I see an Evans penalty at the death snatching the result.

Again two very strong teams, but I'm afraid I can see past the home team especially in such horrible conditions. They have such a dominant pack which is even better against a weaker pack in the torrential rain and strong wind. This domination up front allows the Chiefs back line to dictate the pace of the game. The Cherry and Whites backrow struggle on the back foot, but in open play the gather some pace for their dangerous backs to score a couple of breakaway tries of handling mistakes in the horrible weather. But the relentless Chiefs pack and the boot of Cruden just prove too much in the end.
