second in the league having played a game less than Notts who are top (and with whom I tied). Good start to the season

And with a 6-0 win to add on for Durham. And then Notts and Durham would be tied...

Top of the league and only lost when I didn't do tactics properly.

Yeah I have no option but to opt out if the person conducting the league thinks his league is more important than my exams and that not voting for a week results in an automatic defeat.
Although knowing CF, I am not surprised. Thats probably one of his better ideas till date, no matter how crap it is.

My two games against Durham have both been 3-3 draws. Talk about evenly matched!

gah, I thought I might sneak that one. In fact, I demand an ivestigation into shanky's vote. Clearly the time it took him to issue it suggest that there were some rather shady negotiations going on behind the scenes

Having said that, I'm pretty pleased to get out of my two games with Notts with two ties, as they seem to have one of the stronger squads to me, so suggests I'm competitive

Now five points adrift of Somerset. Looks like we could now be battling for second place in the Southern group.

Whereas in the Northern group all the teams are separated by 4 points, a maximum of 5 if Worcs win their game in hand, and it is getting interesting!

Looking at it though i'm near enough 6 points ahead because going at this rate my vote difference could be hard to catch

Indeed. It looks like the current top 4 in the South have all but qualified, but having lost or drawn a number of close games I need two wins to avoid Notts and Yorks in the quarters. Not helped by Kallis being out, though at least, unlike Kiwi I have my swing bowlers - Steyn and McKay.

For Surrey to go through I need to win both of my final matches and hope results go my way lol

Indeed. I'm looking at some tough selection calls at the moment - Praveen Kumar possibly coming in to replace Finn, which means dropping Yuvraj, plus some top-order tweaks to save the hitters for later in the innings.

I have no idea whats happened to you Hodge, but I'm sure you'll vanquish Surrey out of the competition this week
